The battery was attached to mine the whole time, but in the off position. The unit was in the upright (tank lid up) the whole time.

I'd tell you exactly what the problem was and what I did to fix it, but alas, I didn't do anything else to it other than let it sit there.

However, I *think* the pump somehow needed to be primed. so it's *possible* that if you were to fill the tank (again, water would be easiest) and then sort of lift that hose inside the tank until it's facing up (it has an upside-down "U" shape to it normally) you might be able to get water down into the pump faster.

But again, that's just my guess.
Gotcha. Mine basically doing the exact same thing you described. I was about to take it back but will give it a shot to see if letting it sit works

Thanks again for your help. I was able
To get it working. I took the tube out and flushed water down into the pump and it eventually started going. Works great now!

Those of you in central virginia the store at 6501 west broad street in Richmond has 15 more of these on a pallet at the front of the store. I was even able to stack the $5 off $50 coupon from last week.

Just got one today for $80 after tax, Austin location at 35 & Slaughter Ln. When I first walked in, I asked employee if they had them in stock, she didn't check computer first, she thought about for a second and said sorry we don't have those and I asked are you sure since I could easily tell she had no idea since she thought it was a paint accessory SMH then she called someone and after about 3 minutes she told me no again. SO, I then walked to the Lawn n Garden where the rest of the sprayers were and spotted 1, just 1 high up on the risers and when employee brought it down, it scanned $74 plus tax. Why didn't I just go look first?!

Was it the new or the old model ..
Old model, as indicated in OP's post. I didn't really check to see if they had the new model, just grabbed what I saw and confirmed the price at checkout.

Does anyone know what black screw-on tip that comes with the red nozzle in a seperate baggie is used for? I know the red nozzle is a different spraying pattern. The black screw-on tip doesn't fit on anything. It's just a hair bigger than what's on the 45°.

Currently at the Provo, UT store (#4416).
Price sticker for this below an empty slot on the shelf. Brickseek shows 15 in stock. Inventory system (phone) says 14. New model has 4 units right next to the old one and 2 more visible on the top shelf.

I couldn't find any looking around, so I caved and asked for help.

The guy agreed with me that 15 is an awful lot for inaccuracies in inventory. Punched a few buttons on his handheld and walked me over to a shelf 100 ft away. There is a fully wrapped pallet of them sitting on a top shelf. He's getting them down with a forklift now.

So I now have 10 min to sit here, type this, and debate getting 1 or 2.
Do you think they were sending them back?

*I* don't, but that was based on one employee's reaction. Well, OK... so, story time:

Let's just say "I have a type." And although I'm happily married, I'm also not blind.

Shortly after I got mine and headed to the counter, I passed a woman that, well, she was cute and my type. I noticed her but didn't feel like I stared or anything. But as I passed her, she stopped me, which of course set of all kinds of alarms in my head like "was I staring?" or "am I somehow busted?"

Point is: I was flustered, so when she asked me "excuse me, what's that?" I didn't quite know what to say or how to react.

Turns out she's the local Ryobi rep to HD and was asking about the sprayer. We talked for a bit about it (once I stopped babbling and got my wits about me) and she said she was surprised to see me with it because she thought she'd sold the last one the night prior. I told her they had an entire pallet of them and they got one for me from there. She thanked me and said something about going to make sure they were displayed properly.

So yeah, based on her reaction as well, I'd say they weren't planning on shipping them back at all.
