Does the motherboard/bios support 5000 series Ryzen for a user upgrade from the 3000 series?
Nope not right now. It's a b450 motherboard. HP isn't going out of their way to bring a bios just for consumer upgrading.

Could I throw a 5600X into this at some point or is it unlikely the BIOS will support it?
It's HP and aB450 motherboard. Sorry on mobile can't figure it out double quote. See above

What kind of AIB 3070 is HP using? Single fan?

NM saw the reviews. This is probably the worst 3070 deal in recent memory. Old Ryzen, old board, blower GPU.

Does HP charge you when you place order or when the machine is in production or shipped? Thanks.

from the looks of majority of the reviews, the GPU is HP blower style.
Received mine this month. It's a custom HP with Dual Fan. Recommend adding thermal padding on the backplate, there was none coming in stock. Backplate itself seems to be a lighter-composite metal, thinner and feels lighter than other brands. Mine has Samsung memory and shows up as an HP vbios.

500W is more than enough. Even if you had a 3900X in it. Nvidia just recommends high specs so people dont bother them because they are running an overclocked I9 with the 3070 and a cheap China PSU that cant handle it.
Whats the efficiency tho? Even at 90% efficiency it's not putting out 500w. WAAAYY too many ppl don't understand how power stability affects performance and errors. Also many don't realize they may have lower wall voltage than they think and it's incrediby common, >100v so right off the bat the psu isn't going to output rated. It's viewed subjective because if the guess if a computer isn't coming straight out and saying "theres power problem" people don't think it exists.🤷 ♂️🤦 ♂️ So NO, 500w isn't more than enough, bare minimum.

Dell is known for this, they throw larger cards in smaller stations, same issue with shipping the GTX1070s with a 450w psu.

Best bet get a 700w+ silverstone or corsair, etc with a gold rating, they$re not cheap but they will last. Id check the psu deminsions first, they msy have used a smaller case which limits the max

100% nonsense. Every guide and spec is going to over-rate the PSU because there are so many junk Chinese PSU's on the market. Nvidia is also in bed with the other manufacturers, of course, and will say what's necessary to oversell wattage.
1000% Not nonsense. Are you telling me that they would say 650w as a requirement to sell a product (psu) they don't produce?? And of course, you don't understand power stability and requirements.

That's literally like saying ford only wants you to use synthetic in the 3.5twin turbo engines because they own Motorcraft oil, not because the engine literally needs it to output correctly.

Whoa, that G5 sounds like an awesome deal. Could you please post a link or help me figure out how to get that deal?
Sorry, I mistyped. It was a 2070 Super, not the 2080. And I got it for that price by combining Dell's military discount (10% off) with the 50OFF699 code.

Terrible analogy.

ok thanks
I wasn't concerned about it being top end, just maybe bottom end with poor cooling etc. Girlfriend ordered a prebuild for her son with a 2060 and its about half the size of most 2060's I have seen.
It's going to be similar, my friend has a R11 with 3080 in, it looks like a ugly black box with dual fan... If he don't tell me that's a 3080 I would think it is a 660Ti of some sort

The MOBO is super locked down. I have the intel version though and was able to boot it with a GTX 960 1256MB I swapped out from the RTX3090 24GB.

I had to swap it back for now because my new custom build has a bad motherboard.
How many PCIE slots does the motherboard has do you know?
TIA

Pardon my newbieness but why is a new gen gpu like a 3700 going on sale with an old cpu, little ram and little ssd space? And why is it a "hot" deal?

EVGA and ASUS both produce PSU's.

Here's a question for you: do you really think leading computer manufacturers would increase their warranty and customer complaint rate to (what you propose) 100% just to save a few dollars on a 500 vs 650w PSU? Laughable. The returns would cost them millions.

The fact is that NVIDIA overstates the minimum to power the computer upgrade beast, and trade magazines are happy to chirp the same company line. NVIDIA never gets criticized for overstating the requirements, and trade magazines line their pockets with more referrals. Follow the money, stop being a huge rube.

And that's how HP's quaint 500w PSU ratings just popped a big hole in your consumer brain bubble...
