You have some strong ants in your area, but yes, I agree, 80 lbs max is dumb.

Isn't it 80lbs on each side, so a max of 160?

For this price you can all the Olympic plates you need to start a home gym. And now at Walmart dumbbells between 10–30lbs are easy to find (around $1/lb)

I own this with the extra weight expansion. It is 80lbs total. The expansion brings it to 120lbs total.

It's a good set and well made for what it is. Good for saving space, but obviously not great for heavier lifts.

This can be upgraded to 120 lbs max as an additional purchase. But if you have dumbells already this doesn't seem that great. If you have nothing this seems okay.

Not sure I get the appeal - the point to the adjustable dumbbells is to save space. For this much money, you can get the 552's which are adjustable up to 52.5 lbs each, for a total press or curl of 105 lbs. This is 25 lbs lighter, and you need to have space to fit the bar. IMO, you get better flexibility and more weight with the dumbbells. I'm not an expert lifter, is there an exercise that with a full sized bar that can't be replaced with a dumbbell equivalent?

Not a barbell for benching press...curl bar, overhead press, etc. Would be dope if it had more weight but bar would need to be longer for bench press purposes.

Interesting product, never knew it existed.

Due to the limited weight it seems most beginners would outgrow this system within a month or so.

I think this is meant more for the all around home workout, interval training type exercises rather than just straight weight lifting (e.g. bench or squat). I have the SelecTech 552 and there are a few times where I wish I had a bar rather than just the dumbbells, but I would only get this in addition to the dumbbells, not in lieu of.

$6.50 a pound, what a deal.

For those who are trying to actually save some money. Buy a curl bar, and some plates. This will also allow you to get over the 80lb max without buying the 40lb extension someone mentioned. I am too lazy to look up price but will to bet at least $200.

$149.99 at bowflex.com which is sold out and $239.99 everywhere else where it's in stock

I love blowflex for the utility but their pricing is ruthless

Plates are getting a lot easier to buy now. Within the last month I bought pretty much what I need by checking Dick's every day. But there was a good year where everything was sold out.
