From reading the problem reviews on Target and Monoprice, you are SOL if ANYTHING fails because Monoprice will only replace the whole unit with the 1 year warranty. They do not sent out parts to customers for repairs.
I work for a very large company with locations across the us.
One third never goes into the office again.
One third will go in two days out of five.
One third will go in four days out of five.
This is specific to my company. My only point is some companies are making permanent changes. Reducing real estate footprint is a form of cost cutting. The pandemic forced companies to see if fully remote worked or not.
I work in the tech sector. So I think this applies more to me than others...
Product only has a 1 year limited warranty. That's terrible for an electric desk. Trying to reship a broken desk back to the manufacturer is incredibly annoying. I'd rather invest in a more expensive desk with a longer warranty rather than a cheap desk that was only designed to last a year.

I wish these had the extra crossbar for added stability when extending the height. my wife has a very expensive standing desk that doesn't wobble when extended. looking for a better value for me.

Thanks for linking my last post. Yeah i like the desk a lot, not too worried at this point because of warranty. The desk feels premium as those that cost 600+. Good enough for my needs. Planning on getting the ikea gerton top when its available. I do recommend to get a standing pad, the first few days your feet, knees will be sore.

How confident are you that your WFH arrangement will last more than a year?
Why invest in an expensive desk that will last forever but may not be needed?
Once the pandemic is over and enough time has passed your bosses and their bosses will want to see you in the office. Just sayin', it won't happen to everyone but will to a lot of people.
You can get an Autonomous with 5 yr warranty frame and top for under 400 after coupon code. You can get American made (legs) Haworth Upside for about 500, 10yr warranty,
Unless you really want a custom top I dont see why go with monoprice, bc when it breaks you're effed.
I have Autonomous, and it is all Chinese, but the quality is there. Feels very solid, Got the dark solid bamboo top and its gorgeous. Both boxes arrived within a week, but days apart.

seems like a good deal (compared with direct through Monoprice one from a few weeks back), as one can use Red Card and get additional 5% off?
Yes, that's what I did which is what takes this from the regular Monoprice.com sale price to a better deal. Plus, you can return to local Target store, if necessary. Mine is already on the way from the previous post. Picking up another IKEA Ekbacken countertop for it this week.

Like anything there are always tradeoffs between the options that need to be considered, including:
- Price
- Size
- Lift range
- Capacity
- Warranty
I don't know about the brands specifically quoted, but many of these desks are made by Sinolinear. Given costs considerations, it may possibly be cheaper to buy two frames over the lifetime of one more expensive one. I am in no way saying that should be the play, but it's just something for people to consider depending on budget, need, etc. Also, don't just take warranty as meaning "we'll replace the desk or part if any issue occurs during the warranty period." That may or may not be true. A quick read of the Haworth warranty states, "the Covered Product must have been installed by Haworth or an installer certified by Haworth to install that Covered Product" as well of several other conditions that they can easily use to disqualify the claim. I have no experience with that brand, but I'm simply trying to point out that warranties need to be read and understood as they may not actually be as useful as one may believe at first.

If you have costco I went in and purchased my wife a similar sit stand for $250. If it was online I would like it. It's great. Has a phone charger built into the table along with on the side. Plus can't beat Costco warranty if you have an issue.
