I guess time will tell won't it
The Switch Pro will launch along side Persona 5 for Switch. You guys keep waiting for it. I will play my Switch in the meantime.

I don't understand the people saying wait for the Switch Pro... Currently there is no official announcement nor evidence that should lead us to believe it is getting announced. Even if it does get announced we don't know what Nintendo will add or even how much they will price it. They could charge like $600 and the only new feature is faster load times.
The Switch has also been out for over four years now. Many games have already been developed with the current hardware in mind. If the Switch Pro does even support 4K many of the games out now won't look much different.
The current model is also still selling extremely well. I highly doubt Nintendo will want to alienate those who purchased the original model. Take the New 3DS as an example. Sure there were a handful of games that could only run or ran extremely better on the newer hardware. However for the most part most games ran very similarly no matter which iteration of the 3DS you played it on.
What happens if we get to the end of the year and no Switch Pro is announced? That's an entire years worth of time you could have been enjoying the Switch...

Even though it's still a rumor, this has a lot of weight to it. Nintendo and Nvidia have re-upped their contracts for years to come. Nvidia have been making video cards with DLSS in them. It only makes sense they'll have it on their SOC so the next Switch can take advantage of it and compete with the big boys. Plus we're 4 yrs into the Switch's life. It doesn't make sense to have a newer model in the first 2-3 yrs. It does makes sense in it's 4th.
I highly doubt Nintendo will price it beyond $400. Just doesn't make sense. Samsung will be providing Nintendo with their rigid OLED screens. Which is way cheaper than their flexible OLED that's being used on their high-end phones. Reports that Samsung have tons of these laying around. So they probably struck a deal with N. Since Nintendo is also in bed with Nvidia, they're getting a discount with the newer Integra chips. Just 2 reasons how Nintendo is finding ways to cut cost.
Nintendo themselves probably won't make their games exclusively to the new Switch. That'll be dumb. But who's to say Rockstar or Activision won't? Nintendo could use some 3rd party support even if it means needing that newer model. If it also means having BotW running at 60fps 720 handheld or 1080/4K docked, that's a big plus.
Again, if folks were waiting 4 years to get a Switch, what's another 3-4 months to see if anything gets announced for this holiday or early next year? If you're picking up your first Switch because of that highly anticipated Monster Hunter Rise game, by all means. That makes total sense. But if you're a casual gamer, you could find something to do in the meantime. It's not like you weren't do so for the last 4 years. 😂
All that being said, it's still a RUMOR.
