At 100' 12 gauge is only rated for 15 amps. At smaller distances, you are correct, 20 amp will run over 12 gauge, but not in this case.

Southwire is a reputable company within the telecom world for their power wiring. I'm not familiar with their extension cords but if I was in the market for one I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them.
