While cashback websites will save YOU money, it will prevent Slickdeals from making money off you. SD Mods don't take kindly to user trying to save money at their expense and will delete any mention of CB sites.

This might qualify as a deal in regards to pandemic pricing, but this is hardly a deal otherwise. A lukewarm deal on this Barista Express is $450. A good deal is around $400. A great deal is around $385.

Great machine for the price, but $509 leaves a lot to be desired.
These are good machines, have one that's 6 years old. but i only paid $380. this seems a bit pricey even with inflation
I have this and it is a tank. I have had it for several years and we make ~4-6 drinks a day. Use filtered water and decalcify/clean once in a while and it will last forever.

I hear stories about it not working for some people (not getting pressure) and I think it is more user error than anything

Sadly prices of many Breville appliances went up during the pandemic? Recently ordered the Pizzaiolo, list price used to be $800, now it's $1000 everywhere (excepting this store that gives 15% OFF). Also much harder to find them in stock.

Been holding out for a USA release on the Philips 5000 series. I guess they are different types of machines, this is espresso only? Any thoughts if I should keep waiting?

You are right. But this is the new reality. Lowest price you can get considering circumstances. I posted this in response to a recent post when it was listed for $599.
