259 plus tax. I thought this was pretty good considering the wrench alone is normally 289 plus tax. A 5.0 battery full price is usually another 100 bucks.
I found both items at my local HD and tried to get them to match the price online but they could not. I even had them ask the manager and he said he couldn't. Online only.

If they have the items in the store, these deals are usually applied automatically at the register/self-checkout and each item has it's own discount on the receipt.

You have an impact driver, completely different tool than an impact wrench.

Yea, I saw that after I posted. That beast should have like 5 times the torque over the driver. deal seems solid, but I can't think of a use considering my 110ft lb - 120ft lb Makita impact driver is sufficient for taking the lugnuts off our vehicles a couple times a year.

Yeah, the clerk tried that first, before calling the manager. No dice. Manager was firm about not being able to match the online price. He said if it doesn't ring up to match, he can't match it. I couldn't believe they were willing to let me walk away from spending money in the store, but here I am, lol.

Its a good price. I use this for work often, usually anchor bolts and large bolts. It has good power, I have broken some 1/2" bolts with it. I paid $305 with no battery in 2018. Runs a long time with 5ah. The one annoying part is after time the friction ring will be too tight with some sockets and extensions, but so loose on others that they just slip off when angled toward ground. I've used the Milwaukee some and I think it may be just a bit stronger than the Makita.

Is this a new deal? Maybe the store system hasn't been updated with this combo yet.

Is this hackable? I'd like the impact, but don't need the battery.

I'm not sure. I ordered mine already, when I pick it up, I'll check the receipt and see how it is laid out. If memory serves, if both items show as separate lines, you can return the battery. Oftentimes it is the tool that is returnable though, not the battery.

You can order it from amazon and return the battery. There's a notice that you will lose the discount, but it will refund the full amount of the discounted amount of the battery.

I tried it with another power tool a few weeks ago.

I'm wondering how they come up with the prorated return value. In other words, if the Home Depot product listing says that this offer is 26% less than normal price, then do they value the 5aH battery at
normal price = $149 - 26% ($38.74) = $110.26 ???
If so, then this Impact deal ends up at $259.00 - 110.26 = $149 + tax, which seems like a fine deal.

Does anybody know how the prorations are determined?

Makita uses the past 30-day average resale value in the secondary market (aka, eBay, CL and OfferUp) to detemine the prorated return percentage to prevent their batts from entering said market.

Just an FYI, The low and mid impact are on sale at HD as well. $189 and $239 with a 5.0ah battery, respectively.

I have Ryobi impact wrench and it never could remove 100lb torqued lug nuts and I mainly used it to just spin off the lugs. Can you actually remove lugs with this and someone mentioned even a Impact driver was able to remove lugs?
