Thanks for posting a board game deal. Price is so cheap it's hard to say no, but decided against it. Great video review while avoiding spoilers: https://youtu.be/RkfxRtiP8Mk
One nice thing is the escape is non-destructive, so you can pass it on when you are done with it.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardga...k-alcatraz Board Game Geek gives this 5.6 and says it has quite a few misprints and some minor issues. If you like escape games, at this price, you might really like it. If this would be your first, step lightly.

I was thinking the same thing, cheap enough it could be fun to add to game night. Then I got to Q&A and it saying it is a one-time play, so that's a hard pass. $6 for a game could be okay but seems like there should be some variety to be able to randomize it.
1st time playing a new board game with friends and family is the worst. Everybody trying to figure it out, asking questions, being confused, not knowing the strategies ect,...pass,
good deal, but one time play make it pretty expensive.
I got to play this recently, not great. Three of us got through it together (all three of us big fans of Exit and other similar games) but agreed it was so-so and a bit painful at times.

Every opportunity I get I'll inform. This game is broken. The steps are out of order. Should you choose to jump ahead a few steps, then you can complete the game. But, at one point you need to use clues inside the box, but the instructions tell you not to open the box till instructed. You are never instructed.
The clues are not good in that it just points you here, then points you here, then so on. It's not critical thinking as much as following steps, which are not in order. The games end with a trial and error of different paths.
I've left bad reviews on Amazon and Target, even contacting the company to inform them where the errors are. I never heard back. I would not get this if they paid me.
I can 100% confirm that this game is not worth it. I unfortunately paid full price for it last year. It starts off fun but like many said the clues are broken. Very vague almost unconnected at times. Storyline isn't too bad but honestly they just phoned it in at the end.
There are way more entertaining and well thought out escape room games out there. The MacGyver one is actually pretty good and a pretty solid way to start venturing in to these types of games.
For 5 bucks it is what it is. Just don't be surprised when you get mad at the lame ending.

If done right non destructive one and done games can provide fantastic experiences. Afterwards you can pass it on to others.
Unfortunately it has to be done right and this is an example of one that fails at it.
