I have one of these. They are not particularly fast, especially for a USB-C interface. Most importantly the lock mechanism is weak and comes loose halfway through plugging in the drive, making you wonder why your drive doesn't work.

Yes it was strange when my new laptop only came with a USB C port. Got used to it though and it's much easier to plug in
