Torchlight 2 is fun with everyone together using the LAN option, although there is no true local co-op gameplay. Everyone would need their own Switch and then play together on handheld mode. But the co-op is fun, and everyone gets individualized loot.

Did they fix the online functionality? I bought this a while back to play with a friend and we couldn't get online to work. When I searched for a solution it sounded like it was a known issue.

I don't know about online because I haven't tried it, but the Switch version has a LAN option that has not caused me problems.
