Owned one for over two years now. Awesome fitness watch, battery still going strong, believe the two weeks in watch mode. Usually have to charge it after a few workouts with GPS on but it's no slouch. Works great with my Android as a smartwatch.

just be aware it's essentially a Fenix 5 in a plastic case and will not be getting any feature updates

it's four years old at this point, which is relatively "old" for garmin watches as strange as that sounds

it does however use the older gps chip which is seemingly slightly better than the new sony chip they switched to

I beleive they dropped prices in fear of OnePlus launch in coming weeks. I personally bought Vivoactive 4 last week & found the brightness too dull. I'm gonna return it.. Didn't liked it too much. Infact I see that not much evolution happened after Moto 360 1 I bought 6 years back. OnePlus looks promising to planning to wait for it

Fantastic watch, highly recommend it. Awesome battery life. I even take the watch off and put it on my handlebars when cycling.

A comment above mentioned that it was just a Fenix 5 in a plastic case. Personally, I like my watches to be as light as possible and that is a big plus of the Forerunner over the Fenix line. In this case it is only 49g vs the 85g of the Fenix.

I purchased the 945 at full price a year ago and absolutely love it. If the 935 gets even somewhat close to the performance of the 945 (reviews say yes), then it's worth this price.

Regarding the screen and even functionality, it won't compare to a true smart watch, which is built for everyday use. Garmin watches (especially FR and Fenix models) are built for athletes. The screen is designed to be easily visible in direct sunlight. There is no touchscreen functionality to avoid accidental touches during workouts and because ski gloves, wet hands, etc. do not play well with touch screens.

I have worn this watch 24/7 for a year now, and I couldn't be happier. The smartwatch features it does have are useful, and the performance tracking, for which it is designed, is top notch.

Agreed. I got the FR over the Fenix due to the weight. I want less weight on my wrist during workouts.

How is this compare to Vivoactive 3, my 3 years old Vivoactive 3 still going good, but few things, battery life crapped out, needs almost everyday charge now or at least its drained to 2-3% by the end of the day, second, the stair count totally crapped, in a typical day I hardly make few trips to second floor and it showed I reached the goal of 20 floors.
I thought of upgrade to Vivoactive 4 when it comes on sale, but not sure how much improvement its over VA3.
Any suggestion?

Vivoactive is more of a "showy" or "fashion" athletic watch, in my opinion. Forerunner and Fenix series give more metrics and detailed data, along with a wonderful battery life. I just recently upgraded my 735xt to a Fenix 5s because the price was right ($140ish after tax) and I wanted the upgraded features. The 735xt still has a battery that lasts easily a week, even with GPS usage. I'm still learning the Fenix, and it requires charging more often, but I also haven't modified the settings to truly preserve battery life as much yet. This deal on the 935 is an epic upgrade over any vivoactive, and I would have totally jumped on it if I hadn't found the Fenix I'm currently wearing.

Thanks for the insight on different models, when it comes, models in Garmin its really confusing they have damn too many models.
I would love to get Fenix 4 in 140ish or 150ish. Where did you get the deal, but then, again I heard they are pretty heavy and big, I don't mind big and little heavy, so I will compare both.

I don't think they made a Fenix 4? I could be wrong, but I only ever saw the 3, and then 5. I got mine from Nordstrom Rack, but it's been sold out for a while now.

Yes, Fenix and forerunner are top of the line for sport use. I'm still trying to decide which one to get - 935 or Fenix 5 plus
