I love DeWalt but even I wouldn't pick them over EGO even if that meant a different eco system entirely. And thats exactly what I did with zero regrets.
The Craftsman line of everything went downhill many years ago, the name no longer carries the same weight it used to.. and the products, well you've seen that first hand.
Give the Ego a chance and I'm sure you'd be pleasantly surprised.

I love DeWalt but even I wouldn't pick them over EGO even if that meant a different eco system entirely. And thats exactly what I did with zero regrets.I have the backpack blower and my dad had this one. The handheld is nearly unusable after a few minutes. The way it twists your wrist and arm just never felt comfortable to me.

Some of these battery run tools are just way over hyped, with stupid expensive batteries, with often short run time. I also got a Ego weedwaker...20min and it started going down hill. LOL...got an electric and its a monster. Put a 60 tool steel blade and its just fantastic!!! Watch the cord!!! Yes, it is something to always be aware...just like cars and crossing streets.
It also breaks every two years, requiring full replacement when all I need is the bottom! Ugh.
The trimmer uses the least amount of power by far then hedger, edger, and blower using the most of the 4 ego tools I have. Still using gas for the mower and chainsaw, but would love the new zero turn.
Oh and I am closer to 60 than I am to 50 and it never hurts my wrist.
I'd really like to get the cultivator/tiller, but have either missed the deals or haven't seen any.
With the 7.5 battery and mower for 6000sqft I've NEVER run out of battery. I do feel like the cut quality could be better, I wish there were good 3rd party blades with more lift. I've heard the Toro battery mower has a better cut, but I feel the battery ecosystem in the Ego is probably better.
The blower is incredible.
The edger works great.
The hedge trimmer is a hedge trimmer, these things have probably been battery powered longer than anything so they all work well.
The string trimmer has plenty of power, but I don't feel like it's great ergonomically. I can't speak for the multi head trimmer, but the carbon fiber one isn't terrible to use, but it's definitely not comfortable either. I don't know if the need to move the battery down the shaft or what to help balance it. But this is the only one I struggle with recommending 100%. It's not bad, but not great.
Funny thing, the blower I've found if too close to my head when blowing with my Jabra wireless ear buds, the audio will cut out from electrical interference.
