HDR is okay on this since the VA panel and the limited 16 local dimming zones is able to produce fairly dark blacks compared to IPS monitors where the picture often looks washed out in dark scenes when HDR is on. Just don't' expect anything close to HDR on OLED or high end quantum dot TVs. But I say it's fairly comparable to the HDR on mid range TVs from the likes of Vizio or TCL.
Also since this is a 32 inch non-curved VA panel, you do have to sit far back enough to avoid gamma shift. At least around 2 feet.

You might need to lower the display port version on your monitor's settings or update the firmware of your GPU. I updated my 1080Ti's firmware and that really fixed that problem for me on my 27" LG 4K IPS HDR600.

Monitor didn't like 30hz or 60hz over HDMI.
