Welcome to the internet. Amazon, Newegg, etc.
Yeah I'm not going to trust 18TB of data on a drive from an unknown source, unclear authenticity and with questionable warranty eligibility.

I use qnapdirect, similar price, but don't charge taxes in most states. I would probably get it from there instead...

Good point. I order 5-8 of these drives at the time, so 30 dollar shipping is trivial compared to the taxes.

I generally buy bigger size hard drives when they are around 15 dollars per TB.

20 dollars per TB is what this drive comes to.

pass for me.

I got $377.54 * 2 = $755.08
plus tax $58.52
considering 5 yrs limited warranty worth a green light.

Did anyone get $373.05 ?

Typically you'd see that associated with the infamous SMR drives, but in this case you have a PMR drive with helium and a very strong caching system. This seems tailor made to pop into your second Synology NAS as the storage dump for all your backup images? Thankfully the third party seller does make it easier to resist for now.

Good luck!

Would you agree that $20/TB is the fair price these days for non-SMR drives? I've bought a few at $20/TB just because availability has been uneven. I definitely agree with you that $15/TB is probably the deal price.

Of course, this is all through major retail channels (Micro Center, Best Buy) and not 3rd party sellers.

Good luck!

I just recently purchased a Seagate Expansion External Hard Drive for $185.29+tax from Amazon last month which I shucked to recover a 10TB Barracuda Pro which I plan to use at some point in the future so it's a pass for me as well.

This is $575, nowhere near the price posted in the title or the deal description.
