And again, I just told the short version!
Personally I'm interested in a new Bosch with a 3rd/top rack. Seems useful for getting more into the same load.

Oh, and thanks OP - just pulled the trigger on one. Install is easy so if I have trouble, I'll do it myself (and I plan to inspect the initial delivery before scheduling the install). I expect install issues but the price is too good...
The 2nd appointment will have a local installer / contractor to hook the new unit up. Since my pipes and electrical are up to codes, so I just had to pay for my city permit.
YMMV

I owned a Maytag (and some one here commented it is a reputable brand ...for jokes maybe): the front control panel keeps failing after a few months even though all the other parts are perfectly fine and un-justifiably expensive to replace. ( > $150 to replace a simple ribbon passive panel)
All those recent designs seem to implement that same kinda control panel which is prone to fail due to humidity or more likely because of poor design.
I 'd pass until somebody can recommend a smarter design.
Now I did have to remove the old one for the delivery guys to take it away. I don't know if it I would have left it in if the plumbers would have removed it, it really wasn't difficult, it took 30 minutes for me (a novice) but basically 2 screws, some tubing and turning off the power.
