it's more of a deal if you're looking for this specific feature set, which isn't widely available today. free shipping is normally $75 minimum purchase as well, so that's an added bonus.

well, it's debated whether one can wok properly at all without a 100k BTU flame. nevertheless, people still wok on their relatively low heat gas/electric stoves. most of the wok review/roundup articles that I've come across recommend a thick (14 gauge) flat bottomed carbon steel wok as the best option for electric ranges, properly seasoned of course. whether the results are satisfying depends on your own taste, but the reviewers seemed to suggest that with the right wok electric ranges are sufficient.

I haven't personally used this wok yet, but it has all the right features (primarily thickness, as 15+ gauge woks are more common) and is very well rated on Sur La Table's website. I would read through their customer reviews to get a better idea if it meets your needs.
