Geez what's the big deal? Half my devices are still on micro-usb. Also, this has audio jack, that more than makes up for it.

This speaker was released in the summer of 2019 and it had micro USB. Now it's April of 2021 and this product is still being sold with micro USB. If Sony wanted this product to have a good lifespan it should have thought ahead and provided a modern port that the whole industry is moving to, and that port is USB C. In 2015, 2016, 2017, etc. people could make excuses but there is no excuse anymore
Ok champ, by your account it probably shouldn't have audio jack either, cause hey it's 2021 and they need to keep up?

Having an aux jack is fine because it makes the speaker more flexible, you can plug older devices into the speaker even if they don't have Bluetooth, and an aux jack should have higher sound quality than the standard Bluetooth SBC codec. The story is different with micro USB and USB C because USB C is reversible and micro USB is not, and micro USB is over 10 years old, but USB C is the standard connector that the tech industry is moving toward, including desktops, laptops, tablets, headphones, speakers, etc. USB C is the connector of the future. Any company that is selling micro USB in 2021 is dead wrong because it is stopping the transition to a better, more convenient connector

I got one of these a while back and it works pretty well. The sound quality is pretty average for the size, but after having cycled through a few cheapo small bluetooth speakers I liked the fact that this pairs quickly and reliably, doesn't cut out and has a decent distance, and seems to last forever on one charge.

Also apparently you can pair two of them together to play in tandem stereo. This seemed silly to me but if you frequently use these where you want a lot of _volume_ having a pair might actually be good since one feels a little quiet to me even at top volume. No idea how that works out though.

One thing for sure that this is a great speaker for small places like camping, small gathering in backyards etc. charge with a charger provided with this speaker, as simple as that.

I had the sony xb23 and it sounded terrible so I would avoid this one. The xb23 even used the sony app to adjust the sound but it still sounded muffled. I sold it and got a jbl

Not really there are tons of usb c speakers on Amazon for your $40. Get a jbl go 3 it sounds better, is more portable and has usb c.

Yeah I'm done with micro USB.

Plus CCC shows it has gone as low as $30 in the last few months.
