It was so nice and helpful until the end. Why be snarky if you've already taken the time to find the info for a total stranger?
What's the point of joining this knowledgeable community, if we are only gonna send people to Google?

I get that it's called "Slick Deals", but there are far more benefits to this site than just saving money.

I can't speak for the person you were replying to, but even after I already searched Google, I often check in with this community because I trust the information from this community.

He's being snarky cause he's sick of people asking questions (like syeb did) they can find the answer to just as easy as anyone else, a la as mrtye did.

You all think someone knows this info off the top of their head, possible, but come on, at least try a little.

Are these 2.4 or 5ghz? I just had to return a set that would connect, but only to 2.4ghz band. Then they wouldn't stay connected to the wifi because if interference from the 5ghz. I have kasa smart switches and have no issues.
Almost all smart devices such as this will be 2.4ghz (b/g/n)

If you have interference between 2 different radio bands, you have an issue with your router...the two should not conflict whatsoever as they're on completely different wavelengths that aren't close to each other.

I don't want to make this a router discussion, but your average $40 router from Walmart is garbage in general but even worse when it comes to things like band steering, radios and such.

What's the difference between the OP's model vs this model?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TB8Q...QNB5APQ7HJ

This newer model is the same price without the need for a coupon and uses 1w less power.
Already stated above. LB130 vs. LB125

I completely agree. It's just that the previous bulbs had to be specifically connected to the 2.4 band vs just connected to the wifi. I had the same issues with the garage doors.

Also... Asking a question and having an answer posted here, all in one place, informs and benefits many more people. Let's just chill and be helpful.

If you are having the issue with multiple types of devices, the issue may be with the 2.4 band congestion or saturation in your neighborhood. Get an app like Wifiman to figure out which 2.4 channels have the least congestion, and set your router to use that, rather than leaving it on auto channel. It might help.

This is a router issue though.

Some routers require separate SSID's for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks whereas others use a singular SSID and auto-steer the device to the proper radio. There is also a client max for the 2.4ghz network and some routers cap this around 40-50. I have 48 different connected devices in my house and a mix of 2.4 and 5ghz but each of my access points can handle up to 200 clients.

Going to add to the "snarky" responses. The Amazon listing clearly answers "Note: Requires a secured 2.4 GigaHertz Wi Fi network connection." Last line in the description.

But the user that you are being "Snarky" to is apart of THIS community.

They may have already did the research, but wanted input from the community they trust. You have no way of knowing how much research they've done. You and a few others are being "Snarky" based purely on assumptions.

If you didn't like their question, why not just mark as unhelpful and move along?

BTW, the only reason I didn't mark you as unhelpful and move along myself is because you and a few SD's are making this thread very toxic toward a specific user. The user that asked the original question wasn't hurting anyone.

There is actually a lot of misinformation on these forums to where Google would be more trustworthy but to your point, the questions being asked have answers either in the original post, right there in the description of the product linked, or are readily available on the site of the company that manufactures the product.

I get it, having it all here may be useful to some but at least try to look for the info...some of the questions that come up are just pure laziness.

I totally agree with and you seem to be putting forth at least some effort before hand, which is really all or any of us want. It's the ones who post some random single sentence message asking for information only, these are the annoying slackers we are sick of. Just try is all; if you are unable to find the info, then ask and make a note that you've been looking, can't seem to find, understand or even trust the info you've found. Don't just be like "hey, whats this based on that"...this is freaking annoying as he**.

Cheers,

I have multicolor hue lights in my house but I find that I never use the colors other than different temp lights. The white leds are so much cheaper. And no, I don't have disco parties in my house

It's funny because I don't change mine all too often either but here is how i've incorporated mine:

I have one that is behind our living room tv acting like a mood/accent light. It's blue 90% of the time. When I do our Movie Time scene I have it change colors every 5-10 minutes to give it some "motion". It's totally unnecessary but it's fun.

The other one I have will change to blue when we go to bed and then slowly fade down over the next 2 minutes then turn off. I also have it go red for 2 minutes if the door bell goes off (actually both go red for 2 minutes when this happens).

I also have a scene for middle of the night to turn those 2 on if we need to come downstairs as they can be set to a certain brightness and color to not fully disturb sleep pattersn.

If you didn't need the ability to change the colors -- why would you opt for this rather than a kasa smart plug (for example) so that you could control the light fixture and use any bulb?

Are there concerns about putting a ton of IoT devises onto home WiFi? At some point i think it might start to interfere with priority if not utilization, and of course the possible security issues. How much to these "talk"? I have a feeling it's more often then when you send a command or request status....
I've been trying to stick with devises that work with Smartthings for that reason but perhaps my concerns are excessive/unnecessary. Looking for input from someone in IT.
