It's an office monitor, not a gaming monitor.

Not every monitor needs to run Crysis.

OTOH, if there are other 27" monitors with great refresh rates and response times at that price range, I would be interested.

Also found this refurbished from B&H. Tempted to get this as a secondary but the white wouldn't match my current monitors.

LG 32QK500-C31 QHD MONITOR for $160 and rated like new.

Newb question but is it worth getting the S2721DS if I might get a monitor clamp? Or is the S2721D sufficient?
You don't need the DS then.

"The included stand on the 'D' model is tilt only and 'DS' is fully adjustable – this is the only difference between the two."

No idea. I bought the Dell because I had an Amex 10% promo + $100 Dell Credit so it was under $100 after tax. Given that this is for office use, I doubt the two are different.

sorry but if you have an adult size desk that's 30"+ deep then 27" 1080 is much better than 24" 1080. when you move out of your moms house maybe you can upgrade that ikea table of yours
Hey dont knock ikea desk(tops). They are superfantastic! Regarding res vs size id prefer a 1440p at 27 too but it wont be this price so decisions to make.

This is oddly aggressive.

For what it is, there are a ton of people that this is a great deal for. Not everyone is a gamer or a video editor and the people that are, know exactly what they want.

1080p @ 27" is a hard pass.
