Had this laptop, the speakers gave up after 3 weeks, I returned to Costco. MSI quality checks aren't as good.

I recall every front page 2060 laptop late last year having people pop in and say how "3060 is going to be this price in a couple months." I didn't really believe them, but I wish I had just bit the bullet back then because now I can't even get that 2060 laptop (not this one, I'm aware) for the ~$700 they were going for =(

Remember that stimmy check you received? Ya so does everyone else. It's called inflation. Get ready, it's only getting worse.

I have this laptop, can confirm the fans are loud without a headset at full blast. With that said I play Outriders without using 'performance' mode. I don't hear the fans with that change.

I had this laptop and it was great. The downsides for me were the fan noise, and the difficulty of getting into the internals of the laptop. The upsides were the screen was great, and it has the higher watt version of the 2060 which is technically better than some of the other options out there.

You do need to undervolt it to keep temperatures reasonable, and the fans reasonably quiet. Getting into the advanced bios is a little tricky -- it requires pressing a few keys at the same time in the bios, then you can enable Intel XTU. I did a -120mv on CPU and a -50mv on iGPU and temperatures were in the 70s and 80s.

However, the fans still got fairly loud while actual gaming.

Replacing the hard drive is annoying in this as there's a bunch of small clips of which break, but the good thing is that it mostly stays together even if you break some of those clips.

I got this one when it went on sale last month, added another 16gb and m2 and it's perfect for what I do (programming and design). Been rocking a GT72VR for like 6 years, and the GE75 blows it away (which obviously it should).

Screen is great, absolutely no complaints there.

Battery life is pretty bad, so if you're going to be using this thing frequently without it plugged in I'd look elsewhere or make sure you utilize the battery saver mode. For the price it's a great deal.

It's a shame MSI laptops don't have G-Sync built into the displays. Many gaming laptops don't, actually. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it did!

Laptops tend to last one to three years. If you have the space a desktop is better if you don't need to take your PC with you
1-3...? Yeah if you don't take care of it. I still have my Vostro 1500 from 2007.

Still got a IBM A21P from... 1999? It really only got used for 7 years though. I think those retailed for ~$6k new... I bought it in 2002 for $550. Very nice display for the time, 1600x1200 pixels.

I bought this last summer at full price hoping for a discount. I plug in a monitor for my main screen and just use the laptop screen for Discord. It's always plugged in, sort of a portable desktop replacement.

Temps are great, gaming is great. I can play most things at the best settings. Never had any issues with crashes or lag. It was super easy to add another NVME drive and replace the HDD with another SSD.

Really happy with it. At $250 off it's a steal.

How is the listed laptop with GPU GTX-2060 (model - GE75) compared to the one listed for $1299 with GPU - GTX3060 (GF75). Isn't that good laptop/deal? https://www.costco.com/msi-gf75-t...36982.html

That's a "thin and light" lower spec model. The 3060 is only 75W and it's slower than the 2060 in the GE75. The panel has poorer specs for response, color, and brightness. Only red keyboard backlighting. Less drive options.

Here is a review of the 15.6" version: https://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI...258.0.html

They had that type of resolution in the 90s???
