I bought a few pairs for my boys. My boys are short and skinny (30th percentile in height and weight). They normally wear a size down in pants. I bought a few pairs in a size down and they fit perfectly.

I would say if you have a husky boy or one that likes to wear baggy pants, you should size up.

It's polyester from recycled bottles but it wears the same as virgin polyester. There are ethical delemmas with both but no health issues I could find. I would buy unless you are wearing only sustainable fabrics these days.
