the 3/8, most oil drain plugs tend to be spec'd in the 20-36 lb-ft range, but honestly you can get away with cinching it up "hand tight" with any standard appropriate sized combination wrench.

Believe me the techs at the dealerships aren't whipping out a torque wrench to put your drain bolt back on.

I've been using the 1/2" for lug nuts and on vehicle suspension fasteners for years. I have not had it calibrated but Every once in a great while I use a USA craftsman beam Type torque wrench afterwards to see if it gives me the same torque reading. It has always been the same. They're good budget torque wrenches and like the poster above stated these are made in Taiwan.

How have you been testing for accuracy?

Also, the line pointer does not seem to align accurately, making me second guess frequently

I would avoid the 1/4 click torque wrench. Not because of the accuracy of the calibration, but because of the reliability of the clicking mechanism to be consistently notifying when measuring in in-lbs. For small measurements I usually recommend beam or dial torque wrenches.
