To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

I have a Galaxy S3 (somewhere) that I would gladly trade in just to have a better phone. Does the new phone have to be activated or can we get it and pay for it but just use it as a wifi device (because I'm perfectly fine using my LG V35 as an actual phone right now)
Quote from atoolio :
Following, I have the S3 as well and wanted to know if can get the phone without it being activated?
The new phone doesn't have to be activate or used. The key is to not cancel the line that the phone is assigned to for at least two years while the phone credits are applied. Once you get the phone, you can put it in storage for all they care.

Was wondering this myself with 2 S4's. How many phones can you trade in per account?
As has been mentioned throughout this thread and in the wiki, you can get up to four free A32 5G phones per account.

cause I want unlocked phones and not be tied to a network

I'm on a single line

Why should I pay $10 or 20 more a month for something I won't even use?

I have 10gb of data and barely use 6gb of it. Makes no sense for me to pay more. I previously had the 5gb prepaid plan which no longer exists, but at the end of the month, I was very close to or over 5gb

Similarly, why should I pay $20 more for Magenta or whatever, just to get a locked phone, that I will pay and be tied to T mobile for 2 years?

Buying a new phone is like buying a new car. Phones are getting more expensive than ever. Back in the day, they were $600-700 tops now they're over $1200

You think T mobile or any network is giving you free phones? You're paying for them and they're not even unlocked lol

If you want an unlocked new phone, you either finance the phone through a bank or credit card or pay cash, plain and simple and it will cost more.

Or you buy it used through Gazelle for cheaper and deal with it.
Just a heads up, you can pay off the phone early and get it unlocked. the credit will then be account level and will continue on. That said, you still have to keep the line active on the account

TMO claimed to get everyone a free phone, but in the mean time, they limit it to FOUR.

So they assign it to a specific line but don't require it to actually be active? What happens if you try to activate the phone somewhere else? Can it still remain attached to the initial line?

do they accept the phone without the battery? phone still works, but threw away the battery when it puffed up.
will be easier to buy a new battery and then send it in. They won't accept it as it wont power on without the battery.

You can do anything with the phone. Place another T-Mobile sim in it from another line on your account or give it to some random stranger to use. It really doesn't matter what you do with the phone. It is locked to T-Mobile so only useful for a different T-Mobile line until you're able to get it unlocked.

That free phone will be assigned to a particular line for the equipment credit which makes it free. It really is just an administrative thing to assign the device credit to a line so that particular line must remain active for the equipment credit to continue.

So normally Tmo require 40 day of active service on a postpaid account to unlock. Are you saying if you pay it off they don't check if it's actually in use and you can unlock? Like others I have a nicer phone on my account but don't mind getting a spare phone with credits over two years as long as it can be unlocked without me having to downgrade my phone for a couple months.

Phones are throwaway disposable items, cause every 2 years, a new one comes out that makes your new phone turn into an undesirable turd that lost half of its value. They are designed to fail and not last.

That's how they make their money. Apple literally was caught slowing down phones just to make people buy new phones LMAO

Literally, they are like cars. Only rich people or complete morons buy new cars.

Unlike a stupid phone though, a new or barely used car can last you like 15 years if not more.

You can't afford to spend $1000 every 2 years on a phone unless you're rich otherwise you'll be broke your whole life

but that's how they get you, with illusions and tactics, they put the cost of the phones into your plan and eases up the pain and wallet, out of sight out of mind, without realizing, you're losing thousands over the years. You still paid for those expensive phones, T mobiles didn't give you shit for free lol

It's an illusion, basically like a credit card. Any retard can pay for expensive stuff with a credit card. If you pay with cash or debit, that's when you will feel the pain.

They delay the pain and hide it in your plan, so you're in delusion, thinking you're okay and your financial life is fine lmao one day you'll wake up and see a broke bastard staring at you in the mirror
ok poorman's C.E.O. U are the best, now go start ur ideal mobile phone company that u seem to only know how to run correctly; while everyone's a moron

It's so true since you only have 1 line for yourself. I used to have only 1 line for over 10 years and rarely paid more than $20/month no contract. However, after I married and then had kids, I save tons of money with T-mobile grandfather postpaid plan with all their promotion. Currently, I have 9 lines unlimited with for around $140 per month. Ussualy, I don't run onto their phone promotion game, I just go and buy unlocked phone when my old phone is dying.

Quit griping here about being "forced" to use prepaid. I have the new Magenta plan and pay less than $10 a line, including taxes. My single brother enjoys one of those lines. I put my folks on two of the lines. Plus my entire family for about $30 more than your single line.

I'm not leaving TMO anytime soon. . .so yes I finance phones sometimes, if it's the best deal in the end. If not I buy in full from Sammy direct. But yeah $90 for 9 lines, plus the ability to trade up every year or two and not pay anything but taxes on the new phones. . .which itself is worth more per month than the cost of service.

Might want to find someone to share a plan, etc. Go to Mint for $30 a month unlimited, etc. etc. SO that you're not left out. Best deals are for groups, or singles on MVNO's. . .
Don't educate this fool on how to play the Tmobile post paid game properly. If he still thinks pre-paid service is the best and the cheapest way on Tmobile's network; let him stay on his high horse till eternity
