I have iphone 11 with Tmobile simple choice plan. I would like to get the 12 or 12 pro. Would it be recommended to trade in my 11 and get the 12 for free (or 12 pro) or trade in my old 6s, get half off 12, then sell my 11. Any advice?
i'd do the 11 to avoid hassle

Earlier today, I chatted with T-Force and got the confirmation that my a/c will be eligible to be upgraded to unlimited for free.
I have SC 4gb plan with the intl calling add-on too ($10 entire a/c) .
She said - we dont have to do a thing, come April 18th all lines on the a/c will have unlimited data.

If you have the SC Unlimited plan, I don't think you qualify since you already have "unlimited" (high speed). The free upgrade benefits those of us without unlimited high speed. You'll still get 5G on your plan. If it's true that ALL SC plans with limited data get the free upgrade, then the ones who have been holding out (like the ones with 1.5GB LTE or less) will benefit the most since their plan is likely the cheapest of all the SC plans.
Thanks.
I am just concerned whether I get an unlimited 5g upgrade or not.

Good that TM upgrades limited data subscribers to unlimited. And yes, you're correct, those people stand to reap the benefit the most.

But, this will create an unfair situation, eventually, Imagine two accounts, one with 1.5GB LTE limited data that will be upgraded, paying say $20/month.
The other has already got unlimited LTE, paying $50/month.

After April 18, both get unlimited, but one paying $20, and the other paying $50.

You bet many will storm TM support for this

That's nice. I too have $10 international add on. The only issue till now was data was too low 2.5 gb. Now with the unlimited I am all set until they switch me forcefully in future

Unfortunately, its nothing new. Right now, there are many different plans and many are treated differently. I have been fighting to get my bill to as cheap as I could get it. I was fortunate to find an unlimited highspeed data soc with 10gb tether that costs me $0 and each additional line is $5. I do miss out on free line promos that have happened in the past handful of years though.

Remember when people used to pay for minutes and text messages? if your plan included that, i believe you still pay that rate plan even though those days are long gone. Sure, you could always complain and compare. However, im sure t-mobile will gladly move you to any current plans if you don't like the option you are on.

That's pretty cool you were able to get them to add that for $0. It's hard enough just to get them to add that grandfathered option for a cost! Do you happen to know the SOC code for that data option? If I don't get the free upgrade on the line with the paid unlimited option on April 18, I may unenroll and try to get it for free by escalating it, or try to do what you did.

The soc code is 10sfmgb based on reps telling me when i called in after getting it applied to my 3 lines. im on a select choice (i believe) SCULTT50 or something like that. others have tried to get it added to no success. not too sure what is different on my account as some people who tried have the same plan soc as me. for reference, i had the $20 unlimited data add-on but had an issue and a manager granted 1 line with the 10sfmgb for $0 unlimited data (throttled at usage over 50gb or whatever the limit is) and 10gb hotspot. i then called again for another issue and talked to another manager and politely asked what the chances of getting the same 10sfmgb attached to the other lines and she did it for me.

I'm not sure. I kinda stumbled upon the 9-12 thing with my plan, and didn't expect the bill to drop as much as I did.
Reddit has a great tmobile community that explains a lot as far as discounts at account level and line level,, how to figure out what plan Soc code you are on, and what plans are eligible for what. I believe its tmob workers that chime in and give good info.
It's r/tmobile on reddit for everything related to t-mobile.

$415 would be more than half off the mini though.

The wording says half off. The information is unclear.
If it's half off the mini for 365 then it's kinda correct. Mini is priced at 730

Thanks. I was reading cnet - and it mentions something about converting plans to Magenta Essentials. Know anything about it?
No conversion to a different plan is necessary.

You should read my previous posts about T-Force warning not to touch your plan; look at user DNARNA's post (he communicated with an executive CSR). If those warnings aren't enough, then go ahead and try un-enrolling. Just a warning, especially if you have other lines with limited data that can benefit from the upgrade. Again, if you had done so before 4/7/21, it wouldn't have been an issue.
Yeah, what the executive CSR told me (whole account is now ineligible) is in conflict with what T-force told me (they claimed it would only impact that one line), so we'll have to see how it goes on the 18th. In retrospect I should have probably waited, but what i'd like to know is if I had waited and then after the 18th cancelled my $20 unlimited add-on, do the other lines keep their unlimited data for free or does the system remove this from all the other lines as well?
