To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

lot of questions from a promotion that hasn't started. people are asking but there's no way to know until things get rolling.
EXACTLY!!

Most people are trying to get advice as if a T-mobile rep is on this forum. Heck, i wouldn't even trust a t-mobile rep to answer any of these questions because they probably don't really know the answer yet. So unless the ceo of t-mobile himself is on this forum (is that you desi_babu?), I don't see the point of people getting advice on what to do.

Right now, just stay put until April 18 and relax!

I'm pretty sure this deal only applies to lines that were on the account on or before 4/7/2021 when they made the annoucement.
"Pretty sure"??? Are you the ceo or on the high level marketing team for this promo?
Quote from appleguy82 :
lol ok so if i add a new line on SC 2gb after 4/18 it wont be upgraded for free to 5g at no extra cost Smilie ?
No one can know for sure until April 18. What we do know is that for people coming from ATT and Verizon and starting/adding lines starting on April 18 until the end of the year will get upgraded to unlimited data on those lines so you can draw your own conclusion as to how that will translate to existing customers adding a line.

My reply was based on the available information and the disclaimer that was on the video announcement by the CEO and the press release. Of course, it could be that this is just what they are saying publicly, but that in reality their system is not designed to catch people adding lines or dropping data plans in the interim and it will all work out for you.

Feel free to try and post what happens on the forum. Worst case you'll pay out of pocket, it wont be upgraded and you can get rid of the line later, or maybe because you made changes to your plan at all it invalidates the entire promotion on all lines of your account. At this point it is not clear.

Upgrade to unlimited lasts all year long. That doesn't sound like forever.

I'm just saying why not drop them. Nobody knows for sure what will happen. But if you had a line established before 4-7 you should be fine according to there fine print. Why would I not tell people to take advantage! Big companies take advantage of all there tax loopholes so I'll take advantage of any loophole I can think of!
Hey BJFish, did anything odd happen to your line on which you dropped unlimited and took up 4G free today? My data is no longer working on that line at all. I just spent an hour with T-mobile re-provisioning the line but hasn't been fixed yet. If I pop in a SIM card from one of the other lines on the account everything works fine, so i know it's specific to T-mobile and that specific line I changed the data plan on. Wondering if this is just a fluke or if this is happening to others who made this change.

So quote me in the press release where you deduced that if you add a line after 4/18 it will not be included in unlimited?

It would make absolutely no sense, since the promotion is based on trying to get people to switch to tmobile by adding lines AFTER 4/18.

I am not saying who is definitely right or wrong. Just all of these specifications based how you interpret the press release is getting out of hand.

Not sure what's worse, the people dishing out advice or the people asking for advice and actually listening based on what people are PURELY SPECULATING.

I am not a tmobile rep so I am not going to speculate or advise people. I personally will not do anything to my account from now until April 18.

Just stumbled on this deal...so older simple choice are getting full unlimited ? Wow good deal. Currently have 9 lines on a simple choice account and they started with 2.5gb and then went up to 4gb. Nice to have unlimited even though most users will not use up all that data.

This concerns me. On the next free add a line promo I'll have to switch from my 8 line soc to a 12 line soc. Definitely don't want to do if kickback discounts don't actually take money off bill, at least for the paid lines.

Maybe it was your comment I read, maybe you and the ONE I'm referring to are one and the same.

Was there a promo for hookup running concurrently during the time?
Have you had hookup on any of your account lines before this?
And is the kickback soc the same as the other lines?

Sometimes our overseas brethren will say something was done but actually they push it off to the "offline" team, which is business, they will subsequently deny it. Or in case of kickback for free lines it actually doesn't deduct from the bill, let us know on your next bill. Are you able to verify soc was added.
Just now finally got kickback added via t-mobile app chat on my 8th free line.. tried multiple times last few weeks with no luck so ymmv!

Regarding Kickback, The account level was already there, the only place it was missing was the line. If it wasn't onthe account level you wouldn't get any kick back discounts.. per rep for what it's worth.

This same rep also told me I would have to move to Magenta to have more lines which we know is false. See below:

No worries! I just wanted to make sure we looked at it all, so your current plan, is no longer available so you would be moving to a Magenta Plan to get more than 8 voice lines. Magenta has enough kick butt features that I actually moved off of my old old plan.

You would lose kickback, the free lines and device promotions would stay in place

How is it free when you are still paying for it? Isn't it deceptive advertising?

What does the Kickback add-on look like at account level? Can you post a screenshot?
