To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

This is correct kickback on free lines doesn't actually reduce bill. It is worth getting apparently once at 9-12 lines as some report the system on those socs do deduct potential kickback in free lines. I'm at 8 currently so can't verify
Yes. I had it and I am on the 9-12. It's great. When I converted to 9-12 it became line level. My original 9 lines get kickback but my 10 and 11 free lines show kickback but the -$30 is greater and that's what comes off. I do get kickback on 7 of the 9 original Lines

Free lines have to be added when t-mobile does the free line promos. Used to be extremely rare but over last year they seem to be doing every few months.
I'm referring to KB getting added on free lines, have not been able to get any reps to add kb to recent free lines.

This is a great way to get some backup phones if you don't ever plan to leave T-Mobile and have some really old phones laying around. I was able to find my old Note 2 and Xperia Z3 to trade in and pay taxes. Two extra backup phones in case something were to happy to our primary ones.
Was wondering about making these backup phones. Can I trade in two old phones to get these without keeping them on a line? In other words, to get 2 phones do I have to active them on 2 lines? And if so, can I just switch the lines back to the phones I have and let these phones sit as back-ups for 24 months while the bill credits continue? Or will the bill credits only continue if they are activated on a line?

I want to see if these 5G phones provide my parents with better service than their Moto G Power phones. They are in rural South Carolina and have had terrible service since the Sprint merger. T-Mobile keeps telling them it would be better if they had 5G phones. But if these don't work better for them, they will probably want to go back to the Moto G Power.

On a lighter note, anyone here recommend not getting the iPhone 12 mini? I have a few old iPhone 5's I may trade in to get half off[/QUOTE]

Get the mini.
While the handset is smaller overall, the screen size is virtually the same as the iPhone 7 and 8.

Once you get the A32 5G phones, you're under no obligation to use them at all. You don't have to activate them or even use them. You can keep them in a drawer as a backup, give them away, use it on any other T-Mobile line, etc. As long as you keep the phone line active that the EIP (equipment installment plan) is assigned to, you will get the bill credits. So your parents can continue using their Moto G Power phones if they prefer.

The 2020 and 2021 Moto G Power phones have all of the T-Mobile LTE bands. Hopefully someone can comment if there's really any hope of getting better service for your parents by using a 5G capable phone. Good news is that the A32 5G phones are effectively free to try out and you're under no obligation to use them if you prefer other phones.

For A32 5g with trade-in, why is there bill credits for 24 months when the phone is free?

You are effectively buying the phone for $282 for which they will charge you $11.75 per month over 24 months. As long as the phone line it's assigned to remains active, they are also giving you a promotional credit of $11.75 per month over 24 months to make it net zero. That's how it's "free" as there will be a net $0 change to your month bill over 24 months as the monthly promotional credit cancels out the monthly phone charge. If you cancel the line before 24 months, the balance on the $282 you owe will be due and the $11.75 credit for the line goes away because the line is gone.

Note you will pay tax on $282. If you do this in the store, you'll likely also pay the $20 assisted service fee (and possibly the sim card fee??).

If you add a new line on or after 4/7, that line won't get free unlimited data but you can add $20 for unlimited data. Any new lines activated after 4/7 won't get the free upgrade except for att/Verizon switchers.
Adding a new line is neither upgrade nor downgrade and it's a new activation.
The terms upgrade or downgrade only apply to existing lines.
If you upgrade a line from 4gb data to 6gb data, that line would still eligible for the free unlimited promotion but no one will do it.
If you downgrade paid unlimited line to plan with cap, this line won't get free unlimited promotion.

The free unlimited data promotion is only for existing lines with limited data cap as of 4/7,or those existing att and Verizon customers who transfer to t-mobile. Those att and Verizon customers can get the free unlimited upgrade if they switch before the end of 2021.
There is some Soc's that will allow you to maybe get some unlimited data for free.

You will keep getting the bill credits even if you pay off the EIP early. Having multiple bill credits per line used to be a problem, but someone on Reddit mentioned this was recently resolved. ymmv.

There's no reason you would have to keep them
Active- I'm not aware of any condition requiring the free phone be used to get credits

Sorry I meant having multiple device credits per line. I was told in the past that if you do another device credit promo on a line with an existing device credit promo, you forfeit the original remaining device credits in lieu of the new device promo.

Simply put keeping your 12 mini credits and the getting the credits for the free Samsung on top.

Does this help answer your question?? [t-mobile.com]

If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months).
