To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

For some reason the initial offering change and now it requires add a line. Was thinking of doing this but I don't need a line. Maybe some else can clarify.

For iPhone Promo, just proceed to add 12 Series and you'll find the correct trade-in value in the checkout.
It seems there is no need to activate a new line to get iPhone 12 promotion. Am I missing anything?

Just paid $35.90(tax+shipping) for the A32. I popped one of the line SIM card into an older Samsung T199 phone, made a call so account recognize the phone, then picked that account for upgrade & trade in without having to enter IMEI. Thinking of trading in iPhone 5 for 50% off mini on another line.

The Editor's promo #2 is referring to an old promo. The iPhone promo that was announced alongside the A32 one is https://www.t-mobile.com/news/un-...the-iphone which does not require adding a line and has different trade in values.

Anybody knows what to do if the phone is not listen under trade-in drop down list? But if I chose any Alcatel phone and proceed putting my IMEI, it shows correct credit amount and accepts my trade-in that way. Would appreciate help

Success in trade in a moto phone, but couldn't pass IMEI field for virgin mobile flip phone and Verizon palm phone. They only have MEID. Maybe will go to store for a try, even have to pay $20 fee, but save $7 shipping, not that bad.
Quote from manfromnowhere :
You need to trade in a phone with an IMEI so old CDMA phones with an ESN or MEID won't work.
IMEI are 15-digit serial numbers. the first 14 digits of an IMEI is its MEID, and the last digit is a "check digit" which can be calculated with a formula.
here's a calculator to find an IMEI's 15th digit if you have ESN/MEID: https://www.imei.info/calc

Thanks. As I posted it, they appear to have updated the Store pages. Now says "See how to get 50% off when you trade in an eligible device" instead of the older "when you add a line" one.
What "store page" you mean online or actual physical store?
If online then how are you upgrading?

Too bad the trade-in phone has to be unlocked. I have a relative who wanted to trade in two phones they accidentally locked to AT&T when they entered the unlock codes incorrectly too many times (and now they're with T-Mobile).

I wonder if they would give anyone a hard time about trading in a T-Mobile-locked phone, since it's technically not unlocked.

I guess no one who tries to trade in a locked phone will really know if their trade in is actually fully accepted until T-Mobile receives it (assuming it has to be mailed in).

edit: This applies to the Samsung deal.

edit: I assumed "unlocked" meant carrier unlocked, but it makes more sense that it just means not password/Google or Apple account locked.

Who told you that trade-in needs to be unlocked? Where are you getting all this...

Stop making random stories. And how can you accidentally lock some phone to another carrier?
