To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

Stop making random stories. And how can you accidentally lock some phone to another carrier?
T-Mobile "told me". It's also in the Editor's Notes and Price Research above the wiki. This applies to the Samsung deal.

"If you cancel your line before receiving 24 bill credits, you may owe up to the full value of your device ($282); if canceling your account, you can contact us first to instead make discounted monthly balance payments. Tax on pre-credit price due at sale. Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit, service, & functioning trade-in without screen or water damage required. Max 4/account. May not be combinable with some offers or discounts."

A device can become permanently locked to a carrier if, during the unlock process, the unlock code is entered incorrectly a certain number of times (10, iirc).

$20 upgrade support charge in-store

Personally, I think the $20 is worth it to know that your trade was successful on the spot and not have to worry about being charged full price down the road, since you'll likely only hear back once the return period is over.

I guess they are charging shipping on the free phones, but when I checked online for the iPhone 12 trade in, the shipping was free, so full $20 difference if you're doing that promo in store.

I traded in my XR but even if you are trading an old flip phone for the free A32, there is still a risk of something going wrong and being charged for the phone. It would be nice if carriers and manufacturers offered a modified return policy for mail-in trade orders, so you can fully back out if you're not happy with the results, but sadly that's not a thing.

Can someone please explain how the Samsung A32 deal works money-wise ? Do you need to sign up for a post-paid line or something to receive the 24 bill credits totaling to $282 ?

I'm interested in this offer but don't want to start any T-Mobile service.

It's not really any phone, I tried a LG G5 and it said I would only get $3 after a billing cycle, same for my Moto e5 that was worth $7. It did say the phone is estimated value is $282 before I went to check out, just wanted to give a heads up.

That just means the phone can't be security locked (iCloud locked, Google account locked, Password locked, etc).
The phone can be sim locked to another carrier. That has no affect with trade in (as of now).

Can you trade on two phones of $380 value?
If you're asking if you can trade two phones towards the purchase of one phone, then no. As far as I know, no company allows you to trade multiple devices towards the purchase of one.

Where did all of the information for these trade in values come from now that it's on the front page. Only the iPhone 11 is getting the full $830 for the 12, The iPhone 7 and up gets $415 off the 12, and only 6s and older gets $365 off the 12 mini
Those are add a line, trade in values.

From T-Mobile's FAQ's for the Samsung deal:

"What if I don't see my device listed in the trade-in list?

Don't worry, simply select the 5G Upgrade Promo Trade All Carriers, 5G Upgrade Promo Trade All Makes and 5G Upgrade Promo Trade All Models in their respective column and we will get you all taken care of."

What "store page" you mean online or actual physical store?
If online then how are you upgrading?
The device page. Example: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...ne-12-mini You need to be logged in first.

Lol did you think that anyone can just walk into a T-Mobile store and trade a flip phone for a brand new $300 phone without being a customer?

You answered your own question, it's via bill credits, so if there is no bill, then you have no way of getting the credits.

I'm assuming most people aren't trading in valuable phones for the Samsung deal but, just in case you are, this info from the FAQs might interest you:

"When will I receive my bill credits?

Once your account is verified, you will typically see your credit by the second bill cycle.

Eligible customers who mail in their trade-in device will receive a one-time bill credit based on the trade-in value, with the remainder of the savings, $282, returned via 24 monthly bill credits.

Eligible customers performing an in-store trade-in instantly receive store credit based on the trade-in value, with the remainder of their savings, $282, via 24 monthly bill credits."

Unless something has changed, that's just the weird way T-Mobile shows trade in orders. It's kind of off-putting and I don't see why they can't show something to confirm at checkout, but if it showed the $282 then you will get it.

The $3 and $7 are just the instant trade in values excluding the promo credits so that's how much you would have gotten if there was no promo.

If you are doubtful, you can do the offer at a T-Mobile store or contact them to confirm beforehand.

That would be great news and makes sense, since T-Mobile mentions disabling Find My Phone in the deal FAQs. I honestly can't believe that people would trade in in a phone without factory resetting it, but people trade in and sell phones and laptops with their personal data on them all the time. 🤦🏼
