I made a mistake and ordered another Iphone 12 max on a line with EIP (not paid off). Im seeing 2 bill credits on that line. Lucky i guess?
Talk to them ASAP and confirm if this is OK going forward because if the old one disappears later on, it might become headache for you to get it fixed... better to be safe than sorry.
Every single T-Mo cust care has clearly told that "please pay off the old EIP before starting a new one or else it will get overwritten" !
We don't know if they have fixed their system but why take risk?

You don't have to use it. Just maintain that phone line to get the credits.

Anybody trade in iPhone 11?
What does it under "Equipment Installation Plans", what do you see for "Promotion"?

Under "Promotion" it says "0", and I have not sent my phone yet, but I am already seeing the credits. In the past, the credits dont show up until the tradein phone is sent and inspected. Any thoughts? can I skip the tradein since the credits are already started in my account?
They start the credit immediately because folks like to start complaining for missing promotions, while they (TM warehouse) actually receive the device and inspect and update the system (which takes like 4 weeks more or less) so now they just start the credit immediately with benefit of doubt...!
If they don't receive it within 30-35 days of receiving the new phone, they will revert it eventually so it's not a free money...lol

Thank you for the response, but this was not the case with S21 promotion that I got in Feb. The credits did not start to post for 2 billing cycles, I only saw the installment charges. Hence the confusion. Smilie

No need to use it if don't want to get it unlocked! You can just keep it in the drawer or give it to someone else to use it on T-Mo related network !
If you want to get it unlocked then you have to use it at least for a few days so it shows "activated" in their system and then you can request unlock after 40 days and when you pay off all the EIP balance!

Advice please: Do you think I can buy the cell phone from Amazon.com to trade-in for the A32. I have 4 lines and need to trade-in 4 phones: BLU Jenny TV 2.8 T276T Unlocked GSM Dual-SIM Cell Phone w/ 1.3MP Camera - Unlocked Cell Phones $24.90 each. I am thinking about bring to Costco to trade-in (deadline is May 1, right?). The phones would arrive on April 29 if I place an order today.

Really appreciate it. Have a great week. Thanks.
You can buy a cell phone from Amazon or anywhere else for the trade-in. A $25 cell phone is a bit expensive though considering they'll take any old flip phone as a trade-in. I'd ask friends and neighbors first. If you don't have those, a cheaper $10 phone from Amazon is linked in the Wiki.

Deadline for the A32 5G free phone deal is through the end of the year. People have posted earlier that Costco was out of stock and do not process orders for backordered phones so Costco might not be an option for you if they are still out of stock. If that's the case, you might as well message or call in to process the order and attempt to get shipping & assistance fees waived.

I believe it depends upon many factors like are you adding a line? or porting-in a line? In that case they need to wait until it's fully ported-in before starting the credits.
This being on existing lines, there is no external delay hence the quick credit... just a guess... ;-)
I usually just ask them that I should see the promo activated on the account, actual credit can start later (once they receive the old phone and inspect and update their system which is VERY slow to be honest) I don't care !

Why? Billing will probably catch up to you at some point and then you're on the hook for the balance. Good luck fighting it.

Very risky (and of course unethical) thought !
They are giving advanced credit "assuming" that you have sent the device and they will receive the device down the line (considering postal delays, overloaded warehouse employees etc).
Once they realize that they never received the device in spite of reminders, all those credits are not only gone but putting those back on will be a big challenge even with a genuine trade-in !
Believe it or not, I am shipping the old trade-in devices on the SAME day I receive the shipping label (without even waiting for the new phone's shipping confirmation) because I know those guys at the warehouse are super-slow! I want to see the trade-in confirmation in their system ASAP so I don't wait for anything !!!

I always do the same, ship the tradein phone ASAP and be done with it. But this is first time, so I was wondering. I am going to ship the trade in phone in couple of days, there is no point going thru the hassle. Thanks Smilie

fwiw, I dropped my trade-in phones at the local USPS office on 4/21. They were delivered to Assurant on 4/23. And I just received a text today 4/27 that two of the five trade-ins are completed including the most important iPhone trade-in. So there's hope that the process isn't horridly slow!
