I bought these just before they were posted last time. Unbelievable how much quieter they are than the default on the evga closed loop. Zero temp difference but it went to being nearly silent even under stress. Quite pleased.

Which closed loop do you have? I have the EVGA 360 right now and the fans are terribly loud. I've been contemplating upgrading them, but hate to due to only buying the EVGA since it was on sale for $100. I just don't know if these are the best fans for my application (360 is exhausting out top) or if I should pay another $20-$30 and get something better like Noctuas, even though I don't think they're "that" much better.

Evga brute forces the fans to get decent temp performance. It's one of the loudest aio's out there because it needs obscene fan speeds to match better coolers. Instead of getting new fans for it, you may consider the Arctic 280 or 360. Better performance at $100, both thermally and acoustically.

These Arctics are the only fans I buy, and you can get the 5 pack for around this price pretty regularly. The 140mm's are much nicer to have if your case fits them, but the 120s are still great.

We bought this same 5 pack for $28 back in January 2019. If I needed more fans, I'd have no problem jumping on this deal.

Im not kidding when I said its near dead silent. These would be perfect for that assuming you arent doing some kind of extreme overclocking. These fans speed maxes out much lower than ones that give no thought to sound.

edit: oh. i got the 240
double edit: oh and lol I was going to go air cooled and that sale popped up and next thing I know Im not only buying liquid cooling, I'm also jumping on a 5 pack of fans!

Arctic's P series fans are amazing. All of them are quieter than Noctua or nearly all competitors when output same airflow, plus usually much higher pressure. Usually unless you do need more airflow, there's nothing beating these.
The only thing I have better is Sanyo Denki 9S series, but that's industrial and you do need to make plugs out of them.
This is complete BS. The Arctic P12s are rated at .3 Sones, which converts to 22.5 dB(A). The Noctua Premium Quiet [amazon.com] max out at 17.8 dB(A) If your Noctua fans are running louder, you most likely didn't install them correctly. .3 sones is about average for "quiet" case fans. Even brands like Antec have "quiet" fans that make less noise than these. Nothing wrong with these fans, but you're overselling them.

Have to agree here. Noctua moves more air than these. But they are also almost 1/3 the price!

I wish the P14's were this price for a 5-pack. The 140mm ones are super nice, even better than the Noctua NF-A14's according to this review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv1S9RhABa8

Right on. There's nothing wrong with these at this price. As far as Noctua, they've actually come down a lot in price compared to what they used to be. I'm guessing because of competition.

I've been investing in Noctua's to replace my cheap case fans lately, I'm surprised to see people raving about these being almost as good, going to pick up a pack for spares in case any of my Noctua's fail within their 6 year warranty. Hope these hold up as well and are good quality, I think Noctua is worth the investment though.

That, and probably the Redux line too, which is what I've been getting, I like the colors of those WAY better than the crap brown of the OG's.

Good fans, but mine other others' have a flaw around 1000rpm. As the fan ramps up or slows down, or otherwise settles around 1000rpm, it has an odd humming noise. It's fine if you lock at high/low speeds, but it defeats the point of PWM.
