Airspace rules apply regardless of the weight of your drone. The rule about not having to register the drone doesn't let you just fly anywhere, you just get to save $5 every three years. If you are doing anything even tangentially commercial you have to register anyway.
wanna fly over ocean, and scenic shots of landmarks, like you see on youtube.

even if you fly over the ocean, you need to check for authorization. basically there are two types of airspace: controlled and uncontrolled. if you are in uncontrolled airspace, follow the basic rules and then fly when you want and wherever you want. if you are in controlled airspace, you need to check to see if it is restricted where you cannot be fly at all. otherwise, obey the extra rules that come with controlled airspace (daylight only, limited height....) and you'll be fine.

I'm more concerned about my drone falling on someone or vehicle by accident, which subsequently results of harm or accident.

If the drone is registered, there is no escaping it, I'm locked to the incident. If the drone isn't registered, can't I simply walk away?

i am assuming you are not being disingenuous and trolling. first of all, there isn't a drone problem with drones falling from the sky and crashing into cars and harming people. that's not a thing. and even if it were, the registration process is not in place to hold honest citizens accountable. a drone pilot can affix any label they want on their drone, it's not like a license plate where you can be checked and cited by police. just like a baseball that goes over the fence and hits a passing car, you can and will be discovered. we don't need a registration scheme to do that. why? because flying drones are not a problem. in any case, the mini 2 is very light and it's not going to do a lot of damage. if you "simply walk away" then you're a fool. if you are worried, sign up for membership at the ama and get cheap liability insurance. or simply just don't fly over people or cars like the rules tell you. if you have an accident, then it's an "accident." you can step on someone's toe and get sued but the police aren't going to arrest you if a prop flies off your drone and it spins out of control and clips someone's leg unless your conduct is careless or reckless. as a law-abiding citizen, i'd rather call it "you're responsible for your drone" rather than "locked-in." as i have mentioned before, a recreational pilot does not register than drones on the faa. there is no faa database containing recreational drone details such as make, model, or serial number. period. as a recreational pilot, when you visit the faa website (before you even buy your drone), you pay $5 and you enter your personal details. you can a personal registration number and now you're registered as a recreational pilot. after that, it's your job to put that registration number on all qualified drone whenever you fly.

I just purchased this and maybe it's been said already, but it's not clearly stated on Costco's site, this comes with TWO BATTERIES. It's an decent deal with 1 battery. It's a great deal with 2!

I won't purposely fly over traffic or people, but shit happens! 🙄

In the even your drone causes an accident, it's obvious you would be negligent cuz your drone was clearly where it wasn't suppose to be.

The difference between someone who registers and someone who hasn't is that the one who registered their drone is traceable.

I'm not a troll, these are actual thoughts of many people and even DJI (or else why make a 250g drone? Perhaps you simply can't appreciate the challenges many others have? you may live somewhere where this isn't a concern, suburbs perhaps? But in NYC, you can't move 20' without being close to a pedestrian or vehicle.

Perfect time for this deal. I was going to wait until May but I think I'll bite now.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the ideal Micro SD to use with this for good 4K and storage?
Just make sure it has a "U" in one of the corners - those are rated for 4k video. I personally purchased a 256 gb (max size allowed) SanDisk Extreme Endurance card - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

I have to admit - I am pretty law-abiding and will register my friggin drone - but I did wonder about that too. "How would they know it's yours" etc. Then again - it's not like I am going to abandon a 1000 dollar drone (Air 2) and walk away - I would be like - talk to AllState and give me back my drone! haha!

Just picked mine up. Was a little disappointed it didn't come with the strap that holds the blades securely while stored. Not a deal killer but annoying.

It should be U3. U1 might not be fast enough for 4K video. I watched a YouTube video where the guy made that mistake with this drone.

i have the propeller holder and i don't use it and i don't miss using it. for the mini 2, imo it just isn't needed like with a larger drone. just use it for a few days and find out you really don't need it.
