Short answer is "No". You don't need to wait. The 60v Flexvolt batteries work on 20v tools.
Longer answer:
There are 60v only tools that require Flexvolt batteries. These are pretty much unnecessary unless you're (drilling a lot of) concrete or are a pro who needs the power AND the portability.
There are Flexvolt advantage tools are 20v tools but use some fancy circuitry to get more power out of the 60v batteries. These are probably overkill for most things but are also the newest versions for not a lot more money.
Then there are the regular 20v tools. These come in various levels XR being the best. These are what I personally have (along with a couple of 60v batteries, because I have a "Flexvolt" alert on this site). The 20v tools are all I really need for what I do. There are also tools where a 60v tool is just not needed, like an oscillating tool. There just isn't a need for that much extra power.
Couple of things to keep in mind:
1. The kit I posted comes with 5ah 20v batteries, so you're not going to get the full benefit of the Flexvolt hammer drill (even with 20v batteries its still powerful enough to break your wrist if you're not careful)
2. The 60v batteries are have the amp hours at 60v as they are at 20v. eg. the "standard" 60v battery is 2ah at 60v and 6ah at 20v.
