I think verde 🦶 price is a bit better for the CX at least.
I just pulled the trigger on a 77 C1 through the LG partner site last night. Seems like a good deal, unless late April CX prices drop a few hundred.

It was so hard to decide between the CX, C1 and G1. I wish the G1 came with a stand...
What partner site?

These seem like good prices. I was told at Best Buy that at the end of April - is when the prices will really drop on these TVs. Do you guys think it is worth waiting - or go with these? I am not familiar with Buydig.com. Are you a good place to make a purchase like this from?
Thanks for the post and advice
End of April is definitely the best time to buy a TV period. Not BF or Super Bowl, end of April due to the PLANO/New Model swap. Coming from someone who used to work in this industry for 10+ years. 😉

Yes, that is right, end of April has the lowest prices due to merchants wanting to get rid of last year's stock BUT if inventory is depleted before then.... You're SOL !!!

LG Partners Mall. It's similar to Samsung's EPP program. Discounts based on your employer

Does that LG oled really look 1300 dollars better than the Samsung.
It all depends on the individual.
I bought a top tier 75" Sony at a great price.
My personal opinion is that it's 95% as good as the OLED. It's definitely much brighter, great at upconverting non-4K content and with "ZERO" chances of burn-in.

Yeah, the OLED is better but not $1,600 better.

Just picked up a P85QX-H1 on Amazon, if we do see a good drop in price I'd love to grab the 77' CX. I just couldn't bring myself to spend 700 more for a 77', still afraid my kids will ruin it.

Best Buy had their 50% off Open Box items sale last May. I got my 65" LG C9 for $1099.99 + $100 gift card at that time. If they do it again this year, I would wait for that sale. Best price you're going to get on a 65" OLED.

Most manufacturers set a rock bottom price for selling units just to keep the models seeming prestigious. A lot of times it's way above their wholesale price...example a partner may pay $2600 for a TV that has a rock bottom price of $3100. That seller may want to sell the TV for $2900 because that satisfies their profit margin...but that would be a violation of their selling agreement technically.

To sell below that price, I've seen sellers go as far as calling things "open box" and it really is a factory sealed box with untouched items inside. This happened when I bought a LG oled in 2016...said open box and wasn't ever opened...so I called the store(not a large retailer like best buy...a smaller operation) and they told me all of this. They even had a white glove company delivery the TV and unpack it and remove all the materials from my third floor apartment after I tested it.

I'm guessing that's what they are implying by "scuffed box" is that it is perfect but they are pricing below rock bottom.

Thanks,
Dustin

In my opinion, no. I think OLED pictures are dim, but maybe I'm just used to a brighter LED picture

Absolutely. I WANT LED To be at the same level but it just isn't. I have a 65" B7 in the living room and a 65" Q70 in the garage and it's comical how much better the OLED looks.

Thinking the same as you, I had a 75QX for about a month during BF. It was $1699. Great image, but it bleached out the highlights so badly I couldn't stand it (just a personal preference though, some really like the whites being ultra white). Adjust them down and I'd loose the black detail. The second one was almost as bad as the first so they both went back (thanks BB).

I ended up finding a fully warrantied new leftover 77C9 for $3300 delivered to me in Fl. from at Video & Audio Center in Ingelwood Ca. Not a truly slick deal (but others who were still selling it new wanted closer to $3800). I love it.

I could have saved a few hundred on the CX at the time (I think at the time they were kissing $2900-2950 after the promos, gift cards and such), but the reviews I saw seemed to favor the C9 due to the less aggressive auto white dimming (just built in anti burn in nonsense I dont care about cuz i really dont use it as a monitor much).

The highlights are pretty bright, but not blindingly bleached and of course the blacks get inky something no LED can do. IMHO, OLED is 30%-35% better image. Are they worth double the dinero? If you've got the scratch, yup.
