Before the people that have no idea what an ultra short throw laser projector is begin to product bash, please go read up on what this actually is. The last time this deal was posted, it brought out a lot of misinformation about what this product is. Hisense chose to call it a "laser TV" purely for marketing and product differentiation. It is an ultra short throw projector that uses a laser light source to produce the image on the screen.
The screen is an ALR screen which stands for Ambient Light Rejecting. It is made with tiny ridges that catch and show the light from underneath the screen and not the ambient light from around the room. This has the effect of greatly increasing visibility even with overhead lights on or windows open. This is one of the biggest advantages of an ultra short throw laser projector. You can get some of the same image quality of a TV on a bigger screen, even with ambient light. A standard projector with a front throw will always suffer from ambient light bleed of the image.
You can use ultra short throw projectors on walls or standard projector screens but you will get the absolute best experience when it is paired with an ALR screen.

In the product description: "Massive 100" Cinema-like screen full of rich, vibrant and true-to-life colors"
And the product overview: "Through a combination of its massive 100" ambient light-rejecting screen"
And the key features section: "a massive 100" ambient light-rejecting screen"
And under the ambient light section: "Rejection Screen
Every Seat is the Best Seat. The ambient light rejection (ALR) screen displays bright and crisp images in any type of lighting."
And I'm sure it brings it up a number of times I didn't see while just glancing down the product page.

I've also done my own research into the product. They market this as a "laser TV" because they sell the projector and screen as a bundle

It is a laser projector. Most projectors do not bundle screens with the projector like this. I'm guessing that the fact that Hisense made this product with the intention of selling it as a bundle is why they market it as a "laser TV" instead of just calling it what it is; an ultra short throw laser projector and ALR screen bundle.
To be fair, "laser TV" is a much shorter product name than listing out the product description. To include "TV" as part of the product name seems like a very strategic move on their part to make a product, that is not as familiar to many customers, more relatable to the dominant source of media in the home, the TV. Ultra short throw projectors aren't new products but ultra short throw LASER projectors are a relatively new offering in the field of projectors. We are already seeing a boom in available products on the market now that the industry has realized the potential this projector form factor provides. The laser light sources have much longer lifespans than traditional projector bulbs and the quality of the image is excellent. The brightness that can be achieved from having the light source so close to the wall is amplified by coupling this type of projector with the ALR screen. When using the ALR screen, you can effectively get a very bright and high quality image, even with the lights on. It may not be as bright as a TV with the lights on but it won't be far off and you are getting a much bigger picture. This is one of the biggest reasons people get into projectors. When you can get a really good image at a much larger size than TV's offer, it is incredibly immersive.

I don't know if it is "better" than the Vava or not but the Optoma P1 and P2 will be better ultra short throw laser projectors than this model. As far as value is concerned, this is an excellent one because, unlike the other ultra short throw laser projectors, it comes with the 100" ALR screen. The cost of an ALR screen can easily run you an additional $500+ so when you factor in that cost into this package, it is an excellent deal.

Btw you confused me, but is this a laser projection or not? Your statements that it's a "laser tv" only because of the awr, causes some doibt

I bought a VAVA in open box new condition for this price on Amazon and am blown away. I don't know anything about this one but something to consider.

Side note: make sure you have a dark room for these. I have mine in my living room and it has a lot of natural light which makes it barely watchable until dark

Have had this for two months. It's amazing.
Have had Issue with 5GHz WiFi randomly dropping tho. Set and use a static 2.4GHz channel in our router to fix. Also Ethernet maxes out at 100 mbits for whatever reason.

I want to hold out for whatever the next gen lasers are capable of as far as brightness and HDR. But it's really hard not to pull the trigger at this price and with sceeen.
