Anyone have any experience with these pellet grill? Are they better than the traeger grill from shopmyexchange deal
I don't have one but I've read good things about their grills and customer support. Probably not as robust as a RecTec but a good price/performance ratio.
Q: What is the difference between the PG24ZG and the PG24MZG?
A: The ZG is sold by Dick's Sporting goods and the MZG is sold by Amazon. The only difference is the MZG has a folding front shelf and a different color grill lid, it is a dark grey the controllers are the same, neither have WIFI
Note: Amazon Question section includes the following:
NEW PID CONTROLLER- Gen 2 PID Controller 1-10 Smoke Setting (Not WIFI Compatible)
SLIDE AND GRILL- grill, smoke, bake, roast, braise, and barbecue with Premium wood-fired flavor on a single grill. Digital control, best of both Worlds, use the meat probe to check the internal temperature or toggle the grill temp with the push of a button
Also, noted:
-Ebay sells some $10 off $50 for Dick's Online Codes for $10
-Slickdeals & Cash Back websites offer various Dick's Sporting Goods Coupons & Coupon Codes 10% off with email signup
-Shipping since listing says "Oversized Shipping Charges Apply", you can't get free shipping
With weather changing am really anxious to jump in to the pellet grills. This seems like a good quality smoker for me since wifi is not an issue and price seems ok, not great. Realize when you compare this deal to other SD listed pellet grills that pop up at random times and are often YMMV during inventory close outs and end of prime bbq season, there are certainly many better priced deals; however, the quality level of this smoker seems solid for under $500.
Any thoughts on this smoker (quality bang for the buck) at this time of year?
Was thinking about buying a Pit Boss due to the CS, warranty, and price, but these Camp Chef's seem to be better quality and less maintenance.
FYI.... I bought one of these camp chefs during the Black Friday sales. I didn't realize before I got home some of them with the newer controller Do Not have WiFi, but the controller looks the same as WiFi. I think the smoker is a great value to get into pellet smoking that's why I purchased one. These also have to meat probes where Traeger's do not for anyone comparing. Mine holds temp very consistently even in the cold weather in western ny.
I searched all of California and no one has the Smokepro ($399) instore. It's literally $85 to ship ($100-$15 over size discount). No in-store delivery. They had the same deal at Sportsman's warehouse last month but was OOS. When the sale ended, the grill was back in stock for $499. Lol. i've read great things about Camp Chef pellet and have been tryin to get one at this price. Don't forget to sign up for email advertising and get 10% off too..

I own camp chef, pit boss and Green MT.
I rank them like this
Camp
Green
Pit
Camp has the most consistent heat and does not waste a lot of pellets.
EDIT: Looks like they do... good deal

Only reason it's not is that the camp chef fire pit is easier to clean and the heat is way more consistent.

This. Traegers are way overpriced for what you get, in my opinion
