My friend was expecting to pay $25 for a cheap HP 120GB S700 2.5" SSD but it ranged up as $6.46 at the register. The manager mention that a few other Staples are clearing them out and their prices in store won't match the full online price. 99% sure it is a YMMV deal.

Location was in Charlotte, NC (28269)

Side-note: Prices for the higher capacity HP S700 drives all came out to be regular prices.

SD rule #1: Never call the store!!!
Got two. Were asked to donate for school supplies. Too shy to say no. Donated $5. Guess i am not a good SDer.
Saw 2 in stock in my area in NY, so I went to the store and they weren't on display. Went up to register and it seemed like the supervisor knew exactly the model and size I was looking for, and went to the back and retrieved it for me.

My guess is an employee is trying to keep it for themselves... but I left one for them Wink

Is it because it's Staples? I think OfficeDepot/Max shows up a little different too.

Cool Deal OP!

What's a good use case for these? A boot drive for a PC? Or put in an old laptop to give it new life? I assume just using it for storage alone isn't very optimal due to the size.

Old PC or laptop as a OS drive. I replaced all my kids laptops with SSDs. They only surf the web and play online games. I do show some around me not sure if it's something to rush out for but definitely a great deal
