sorry about the job loss. if you are okay with free versions, you could use google docs or libreoffice like cprepair mentioned, or download office 2019 from microsoft and activate using a key obtained from the grey market (ebay, for example) for the cost of a sandwich.

This is a Windows laptop, not a Chromebook. It doesn't matter how old the hardware is, it is still supported by Microsoft on the software side, because Windows gets updated. Your statement is just plain wrong.

I just received mine and I'm actually quite shocked that this 300 dollar laptop is very well made. I'm currently testing it but wow. Hope it does not explode or something.

I had to return my refurb because of a software issue, but I would have kept it otherwise and considering picking another up.

For the price the build quality, keyboard, and screen are very solid.

Anyone has an issue with the USB ports on this? I've had mine a month, and both ports giving me issues since day one. I only use this to run my automotive scanner tool, which the hardware plugs into the usb, and I have service manuals on it. When my "computer guy" was transferring stuff from old laptop to the new, he had issue using his Zip drive.
