Great TV, great price, thumbs up.

Obligatory consumer information:

Currently this TV does not do 4K120 (instead it does 3840x1080 and then upscales) and Sony is being deliberate unclear whether it ever will. So if that specific feature is important to you, caution.
Costco specs say 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports. In reality it only has two, and one of them is also eARC. So if you want to connect eARC audio, and an XBOX, and a PS5; you'll be a port short.

Only regret I have is not spending the extra $400 to get this instead of the 75". Best TV I've ever owned all across the board

Also this price at Best buy, but highly recommend you just spend the $60 on a Costco membership for the warranty.

Yea thats a big difference. How is the X900's reflection handling? I have a giant window behind the sofa that creates direct glare.

Debating a 75" Q80T for ~$1900 or 85" X900 @$2200 - is a $300 price difference worth the extra 10 inches (will be sitting ~12 ft away with lots of glare). I was leaning toward the Q80T for its reflection handling and gaming aspects but this seems like a great deal as well.
I'd go 900H for sure

I've been debating between this TV or a UST projector and 100" screen...
Projection is pretty much only usable in rooms that have very little natural light.

If your window has a good amount of windows and you aren't able/allowed to cover them, a projector isn't for you.

IMO, it's very good with dealing with glare / reflection / ambient light.

I got this TV in November and I have windows directly across from it, and I'm not "allowed" to have curtains/drapes on them, but I DO have blinds on them.

I knew from the prior TV (2017 Sony XBR 65) that the windows are an issue and I had the 65" tilted down as much as possible to help with this.

When I go the 85" I made sure to get an fully articulating mount that has a 15 degree downward tilt (Mount is EchoGear EGLF2, which I highly recommend) so that I can counter the reflections as much as possible.

This approach has worked. On most days, the windows aren't an issue. On the brightest days, I definitely can't watch dark content (sci-fi for example, I have to save for the night time). On these bright days, I also put the tv in vivid mode (which has a fine picture, once you tweak the settings for it; yes vivid is awful out of the box).

With the tv titled down this much, the top edge of the tv is something like 16-18" away from the wall. Which some people might be bothered by. My wife and I are not bothered by it.

A family member and I both get our this tv from costco around the same time (November). We both love the TV. There was some quirky behavior initially but software updates fixed those concerns and the TVs work great.

Can I mount this beast on my fully articulating wall mount if, based on the specs, it can handle the weight of the TV but wasn't specifically designed for 85" tvs?

Love the tv but comes with quirks. Ethernet will stop working requiring restart of tv. Other random things. Would still buy. Just hope the fix with firmware

Yes. As long as your mount does VESA 400x400 and says it can handle at least this TV's weight of 100 pounds (personally I sought out a mount that said it was good for at least 120, for a safety cushion).

This is my first deal posting - I use this community A LOT but don't participate much, I have a projector setup but have had the itch of maybe replacing with this TV as it's the largest affordable full array LCD and other than the $19XX cost around black Friday of 2020 i don't remember this being any cheaper than right now. Price valid through 5/2/2021 or while supplies last.

Costco gets you 5 years of manufacturer warranty and I have read if you purchase with the Costco VISA (i think?) You get an additional 2 years of warranty for a total of 7 years warranty.

I know there has been a lot of back and forth with advanced HDMI 2.1, 4k@120 and VRR options with this TV but for me I'm not a gamer so not a huge deal. I just am thinking about replacing my living room Epson 5040/110" setup with a television.
