Great TV, great price, thumbs up.

Obligatory consumer information:

Currently this TV does not do 4K120 (instead it does 3840x1080 and then upscales) and Sony is being deliberate unclear whether it ever will. So if that specific feature is important to you, caution.
Costco specs say 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports. In reality it only has two, and one of them is also eARC. So if you want to connect eARC audio, and an XBOX, and a PS5; you'll be a port short.

Only regret I have is not spending the extra $400 to get this instead of the 75". Best TV I've ever owned all across the board

Also this price at Best buy, but highly recommend you just spend the $60 on a Costco membership for the warranty.

Does the Costco version have a 5 year warranty vs the normal 1 everywhere else?
Yes. If you use Costco Citi Visa card, 2yrs added to 5yrs

Seems that many folks see this 5 yr warranty as a great perk. Better hope it's never needed... it's not a Costco/Allstate Warranty, it's a Sony Warranty that does not have in-home service. Who wants to pack-up an 85" TV and take it/deliver it to a service center?

I've been debating between this TV or a UST projector and 100" screen which is about 4k. I have a costco citi card and $169 rewards certificate, I think I may have to pull the trigger.

Has anyone ever had to use costcos warranty service? good or bad experience?
There was just a slickdeal the other day for a 100" screen and projector for the same price as this or close I believe... Might want to do a search.

Projection is pretty much only usable in rooms that have very little natural light.

If your window has a good amount of windows and you aren't able/allowed to cover them, a projector isn't for you.
Not if you have certain screens that block the light from reflecting as much but they will still look better in the dark.

Bought the vizio pqx 85" two weeks ago. Will be returning that for this. I was torn between the two from the go and I should have gone with the Sony. At this price, The Vizio just doesn't feel like the picture quality is $700 better.
Can I do a membership online or in store only?

How is the extended warranty from GT? You didn't mention but GT's price includes tax so it's quite a bit of savings over this price. If adding their warranty is also better then it should be a no brainer. A return would be a lot harder though.

I've been looking at the Optoma Cinemax P2 and Dynamique Grandview 100" screen. I did see that deal though for the hisense.

YES... tax and shipping are included in the GT price, and YES a return would definitely be more difficult. If purchasing and adding an extended protection plan I would not opt for the CPS Warranty purchased through GT because it will mirror the Sony 1 yr warranty (X900H) on this product which does not include in-home warranty service. I've never purchased a TV Warranty from Upsie, but I've had luck with their cell phone warranty. I would probably go that route since Upsie's 5 yr warranty on this TV would be $220, and includes in-home service.

$700? The Vizio was $2500 for months. Better TV all the way around.

How do we confirm on warranty period ? Once TV is delivered, do we need to call sony to see if we have 7 years warranty on the TV ( purchased with citi costco card)

Eff it. Pulled the trigger. Been waiting for the 2k price but this is close enough.
Same here...was waiting too long for the 2k price...this is almost there...so I pulled the trigger. I wish they could have added the square trade warranty with this as a promotion.
