PSA: For those in states where you're considering enrolling in the utility program to save money on the thermostat, make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions on those programs. For my state and local utility (and I assume other states and utility companies) the pricing model changes, in some cases drastically, by introducing different levels of peak pricing and sometimes even direct control over your thermostat. Whether it can save you money in the long-term is possible, but just be sure you fully understand what the program entails before jumping in with both feet.

      Didn't see Nevada.

NVEnergy just did a (free) residential energy assessment for me. Part of the assessment included a free ecobee thermostat (parts & installation included).

See attached for their service areas in Nevada.

You can sell your old one!

I received a smart thermostat rebate from PG&E a couple years ago, so not sure if I would qualify for this or not. Don't want to risk $100.
Good point, I also got a rebate for my ecobee few years back, not worth the risk

How do they validate I installed it? I live in an apartment and I am about to leave in a few months. So thinking about getting it and not installing it.

Anyone from MA know if mass save actually audits or tracks the serial numbers? Can I use my parents account with a qualified provider to order thermostats for my own house? My town has their own company, so they don't use the big gas/electric companies.

Just a heads up this unit is not as good as the Nest-E or regular Nest in terms of application/flexibility. This unit is not rechargeable and will most likely require a C wire. I have the other two thermostats with no issues without a C wire but this one required it.

Some of the cheapest rates in the country. I'll take that any day over a discounted smart thermostat

In Illinois it just costed me 11 dollars with comed! Thanks
I saw $0.99 when adding to cart. On the final review page, it changed to $99.99

Is this your first time claiming a smart thermostat from ComEd? I claimed one a few years ago so I wonder if that makes me ineligible for another one. I know ComEd's air purifier and dehumidifier rebate limits reset every calendar year but not sure about the smart thermostat.

They rob us blind here in NY (more precisely, on Long Island), but can't even give us a lousy free thermostat, to help them to keep robbing us.

      Yeah, no...Of course it's a no-go here๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคจ
I thought it was working *until* I saw I could only choose New Jersey.๐Ÿ˜‘
