I've been using this router for about 5-6 months now and have no issues with it. I chose to get this "prior generation" router as opposed to the AX routers because most of my devices are not AX compatible and likely will not be for a couple of years.

No issues in a NYC apartment with blasting two separate 5GHZ signals everywhere and seems to handle interference no sweat. I remember this is the same price I got the router from Costco so I'd say its a good deal.

Mine loses wifi signal 3 times a week. I dont recommend. I might take it back to costco.

according to the TP-Link website the latest firmware for this router was posted on November 2019
(for V2, V3)
its been almost 2 years that this router hasnt received new firmware updates Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
I was tempted to get it, but knowing that, I will stay away.

Really good router - nice range, performance and stability. The only con imo is the old firmware, which could be a security risk.

When will TP-Link finally step into the 21st century and allow the flashing of their 20th century routers with 3rd-party firmware? All they need to do is copy Asus ...via Merlin.

I also love Asus routers because of Merlin.
I have been tracking the prices of Asus routers with wifi 5 band and they are so expensive.
they are at least 5 years old and they still are selling the gaming routers for $200+
thats crazy.

Using it right now, mostly fine with occasional hiccups under heavy use(everyone on different zoom meetings and video steaming).
But with no firmware updates, I won't recommend it. Thinking about nothing to fix is like cheating yourself. The thing runs on a version of embedded Linux, Linux is constantly updating to fix problems. They should have some unified base so it'll be easy to update all their products but they don't. No matter how cheap the products are, they should provide a level of support because it's a brand building not just individual product

Good for the price point. Needs a reboot every 2-3 months, otherwise covers wide area.

Which ones are you looking for? I've got a Asus RT-AC3200, been replaced once under warranty, and now it stops working sometimes 2-4 times a day. I just rebooted it twice under 1 hour so I started finally looking for a new router. Not truly sure it's the router as I have similar problems with another router (older Netgear), but I've already tried two modems as well, and moved the modem to the first cable input in the house and removed the splitter so it's the only device. Really frustrating.

I have this router, so far so good. The only thing that annoys me is that I can't configure bandwidth control. Sometimes we have devices that would randomly upload to the cloud and suck up all the internet bandwidth. It would be nice to be able to set a limit on the upload speed.

So I picked up AX6200 Nighthawk Wifi 6 router from Costco with that -$100 off so it was $200.

Now that this is $100 I'm wondering if I should return it and save the extra $100?

Do any of you have experience using either of these routers or both?
