Anyone know if these are root-able and able to flash an AOSP image?

Ordered one and then cancelled after I realized it shares very little with its bigger brother:
-No USB C
-1 GB Less RAM
-Inferior processor
-HD instead of FHD screen

it is rootable (and GSIs mostly work), but would recommend spending money on a better device.

lack of ram (2GB) and slow storage = very slow switching apps, on stock samsung or GSI (aka not a samsung bloatware issue)

For the price, you should be getting thunderbolts 3, 8GB of ram, Snapdragon 888 and 4K screen.

I don't understand how that cheap nexus 7 I had years ago was so damn smooth and these tablets today are trash. Got one for the kid who is fine with it, but it chugs, haven't used a device this bad in a long time.

My mother has this. It's a very slow tablet, touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive. Every time my mom asks me to fix its slowness, I just wanna toss it like a frisbee into the trash.

Unless you never updated android or only use simple apps, no one else on the planet would claim nexus 7 is "smooth" nowadays.
