Yeah getting the 11400 instead is a no brainer considering it is as fast, cheaper, and offers faster RAM and pcie 4 support. Also, most motherboards offer unlimited turbo boost duration (no time expiry) and intel chips essentially boost close to their max frequency, so the K designation doesn't mean much

I built a system with the i3 10100 and graphics cards are ridiculous. Would it be worth it gaming wise to return the i3 and get the i5 given they have the same integrated graphics??

Not until you get a graphics card.
Worth noting for you since you have a low end CPU: get an AMD graphics card if you can. Nvidia GPUs put a lot more strain on the CPU than AMD ones.

if you plan on getting a gpu in the future, the i5 will perform and age better from a cpu perspective. otherwise they both have weak igpus for gaming.

Uhh... My 9600KF does 5.3GHz stable over air. Max of 11400F is 4.4GHz. 0.9GHz OC is not a waste of time, money, nor power. Most unlocked Intel processors can do at least 5.2GHz on air.

You should compare CPUs with their out-of-the-box stable OC performance THEN do a price-performance comparison. Not OC-ing nowadays either means you're trying to save power (a proper OC gets the minimum voltage increase for max stable freq increase) or you're below an idiot. It's literally 1-click OC in all motherboards now.

How much more money does the K model cost over the non-k model? $30? Then you have to buy an aftermarket heatsink which would cost another $30-50 and a motherboard that can overclock which cost another $30-50 more.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a 9700 or 9900? Or put an extra $100 towards your GPU
