The lowest price on this in about a year. The kit is already sold at a discount vs buying individually, and this is about $12.70 less than the retail price for the kit. Note, the 3 hour Panasonic quick charger sells for close to $21 for the charger, alone. Or, it sells for $26 for the charger and 4AA Eneloops. AA Eneloops on Amazon stay stubbornly around $19 for an 8 pack, so the $21 charger and and an 8 pack of AA Eneloops would be about $40, and the a 4 pack of AAA Eneloops on Amazon is about $10.50.

Not IMO. Last year and then again just a week or two ago I got Costco's Energizer kit for $15. It comes with 6 AAs rated at 2000mA and 4 AAAs rated at 800mA and a charger that appears to be the same as the Eneloop BQ-CC75. The batteries are LSD and made in Japan (therefore made at the same factory as Eneloops). Quick chargers really aren't ideal because they put more stress on the cells shortening their life.

(8) AA's = $16
(4) AAA's = $8 if purchased in increments of eight
Non-quick Eneloop Charger = $9
Total = $33
I guess if the 3-hour quick charger is critical for you, this isn't an awful deal. Otherwise, it's nothing to scream at.
Edit: error in labeling "AAA"
(8) AA's = $16

Non-quick Eneloop Charger = $9

The biggest advantage is that it's less likely you'll get knockoffs in a bundle, at least, I would assume.
