How do these compare against Arlo?

I had arlo and I have blink now. I think the blink app is better and easier to use. I like not having to charge my cameras like I had to with arlo. What sucks is you have to buy a bunch of lithium batteries. The video quality is better than the arlo I had. I had the second generation arlo. There is more options on the blink app than there was on the arlo. Sensitivey seems about the same sometimes my cameras will go off it seems for no reason. Maybe something triggered it but it started to record too late. Batteries will not last a year if it's in high traffic areas. Mine last about a few months or so but I get packages delivered all the time and have 6 adults coming and going in my household. By the way I have the blink xt. Overall I think these are pretty good cameras especially for the price very easy to set up. Hope this helps

These two new Blink cameras with the WiFi module are very good. They compare favorably to the older Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 if you want a system without paying extra for cloud storage. A USB key drive simply plugs into the Sync Module 2 for storage. PROS: The cameras are less expensive and smaller. The batteries last a lot longer. Set up is easier and the wifi connection is more stable in range. Image resolution and night vision are better. Triggering is faster with less delay. There is a wired indoor camera available in addition to the wireless indoor and outdoor cameras. CONS: The sound quality is worse than Arlo and there is no noise triggering. The speaker quality is also worse. There is no geofencing, so you must rely on scheduling only to arm and disarm the system.

Thanks for that feedback.
Do these Blink cameras use Lithium batteries? A friend mentioned these use regular AA batteries - maybe that's a different model?

They can use regular but they recommend lithium because they last much longer.

Do these save onto SD card or have to pay for subscription like Ring? Any recommendations for ones with save to SD option?

As someone else stated above, the wifi hub they connect to has USB connection for external storage to be added. Amazon sells a compact 64gb flash drive ($15) specifically for the blink hub. Or, you can pay a subscription ($10 a month for unlimited cameras I think?) to store on the cloud.

Can footage be accessed remotely? If I'm out of town and need to see what was recorded.

Yes, you can access it, download it, share it. 7 or 30 days recording available.
