I am new in the market for a battery mower. I am going to pick among this, Ego LM2135SP, and Greenworks 80v deal from Costco. This will be my first time owning a mower. Based on my limited knowledge, I think these three are pretty close.

Wait for some comments from the battery experts. I've read on these forums that the Kobalt 80v line is being discontinued but they can confirm. Also this isn't a great price based on past deals, so also know that.

Got the newest Kobalt 80v push mower with 5amp battery 6 months ago for $130 during clearance. Good deal around $200 for the mower pictured.

I've got the previous model and it has exceeded my expectations! Had it for two years and has been excellent.

got it at that hot sale and was like $250.

mine has two 2.5 amp hour batteries so this single 6 should be great as well.

also got to matching weed eater string trimmer on sale for $200 ! few months later.

both are excellent tools.

both match gas counter parts, I would say the mower is comparable to 5 horse power gas.

if you need one right now it would be a good deal to have for the next several months before they go back on sale if you can't wait.

I missed out on the blower last year's clearance, hopefully it will come back.

alao waiting on chainsaw deal.

Have had this for about 3 years now. Love it but wish there were more Kobalt 80v tools in the pipeline. Seems like it's being discontinued but that's not certain.

Also have heard these batteries work in 80v Greenworks tools with a little modification, so that may be another option to continue investing in this system.

I have the push version and love it. Not a bad price considering grass season is starting up.

Price could be better but I love these tools. They are great. I hope they aren't discontinued as rumored--if they're still selling, maybe that rumor was wrong! If they are, Greenworks 80v can be compatible with modification.

I bought into the Kobalt 80V line because of the incredible deals. I've used the mower (push version) for 3 seasons and also acquired the trimmer (with exchangeable head) and blower.

I can mow the whole yard on a single 2.5Ah battery, and don't have to wait for charging when the trimmer and blower each have their 2.0 batteries charged. I have a smaller yard though.

Kobalt does continue to come out with new tools, last year they introduced a new trimmer and blower model in a package. It's not abandoned, but it is also not a top priority, especially with Lowe's buying EGO exclusivity.

As others have mentioned, there are basically re-branded Greenworks tools (Snapper is another re-brand). They can be made to work cross brand by removing tabs on the batteries.

I am happy with mine and will use them as long as I can, however I would not pay this price. The 6.0 battery is a huge win, although this exact set was on clearance at the end of season for like $200.

If I had to pay this price, I would definitely look at a different platform.

The Kobalt and Greenworks are basically the same. I got the Kobalt one from Lowe's when it was on clearance last year for $300. It is a great mower.

Yeah, I got the push version for about $225, then it fell even lower to like $200.

Definitely super happy with it. Zero maintenance. Lasts a while. Lightweight. Vertical storage. Overall great purchase.

One thing to note is that I had two 2.0 Amp batteries with 1 charger. My 1/8 of an acre would consume both batteries with one narrow side of the yard left to mow. I started consuming one battery, using the Kobalt trimmer, using the second battery, then go back to the first on that very last section since it had enough time to charge.

I recently got an 80v blower that came with a 2.5A battery and haven't run out of juice using the 2.5A and one of the 2.0A batteries.

One more note is that the battery won't charge when hot, so make sure you charge inside your home. Also, seems like the battery life is shortened if you leave them in the heat. Since learning this we moved them from the garage/shed into the coat closet.

ive had this for 3 years. works great, BUT, at the time, it was the best out there. now, ego and ryobi have a dual blade version that gives a superior cut. since i only mulch, this mower replaced a toro super recycler, which was the best mulcher i have ever had. the kobalt does an ok job, but if you mulch, go for the ego or the ryobi

Decent deal. There are some ego ones that are better for mulching.

Do you mulch or bag? I believe ego is better for mulching and less space consuming. I believe ego is plastic and lighter.
