The title said i7-1165G7

It you have looked at previous generations before, you would notice previous 10th gen is like
i7-10xx

And the 9th gen has something like
i7-9xx

I have a question. If I upgrade this laptop to Windows Pro will that have any effect on warranty?

On my platinum card its under the "offers" tab. You have to add the offer first and once you complete the purchase from Dell.com for an order over $500, you should be getting a ststement credit of $100.
Nope, no offer for me, just some +1 Reward Points for every dollar spent on Dell.com...

in general, is a single 16GB better than 2x8GB?

If you are doing normal user things, you wouldn't know one way or the other.

Linus Tech Tips had a blind test with people demoing different solid state drives. If memory serves, the technically slowest was the top choice by all participants as the one that felt fastest.

RAM speeds and such are the same. Unless you are doing benchmarking or crazy unique tasks, you won't notice anything RAM related unless you run out and need more. 16 gigs... I mean, I still run my gaming PC with 8 and rarely hit snags of capping out RAM. So non-gaming, I can imagine it's possible with everyday apps to hit 16 gigs, but that's a LOT of tabs open.

Remember, real world application vs max hypotheticals with technology are often fairly different. So even if dual channel gave you "twice" the capability, the question is what are you doing that is so actively RAM heavy in which the task would have a noticeable difference. You won't notice any difference browsing the web on pretty much anything probably about north of 5-10 meg because most websites simply lack enough data to load. You hit a very steep diminishing return on these kinds of things for most usage scenarios.

I am sure there are fellow techies that will downvote me, but that will largely be people that care about showing off specs over anything else. They exist. I couldn't even tell you the speed of my RAM - I know it's two 4 gig chips and DDR4, but otherwise ๐Ÿคท By the time I upgrade, my current RAM won't be compatible anyway. I typically upgrade once per RAM generation.

Costco has Dell Inspiron 14 5000 Series 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop - 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 - 1080p for $699 (assume also has memory slot to upgrade memory)

https://www.costco.com/dell-inspi...02545.html

So if someone prefer touchscreen and/or has the $50 off $500 Costco coupon that mentioned in the other Costco thread (and assume it may work with this), may be good deal for some.
Which do you think is a better deal? Why is one better than the other?

Yes, the Dell one is more powerful. I think I gave you one Dell desktop link. Better get that one. It has a less powerful graphics card but rest are more or less same

Dell called me again and they keep pushing that gaming desktop โ€ฆ

Dell G5 Gaming Desktop 10th Gen Intelยฎ Coreโ„ข i7-10700F processor(8-Core, 16M Cache, 2.9GHz to 4.8GHz) Windows 10 Home English videocard NVIDIAยฎ GeForce RTXโ„ข 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6 memory 16GB, 1x16GB, DDR4, 2933MHz harddrive + 512 SSD for $1328 plus tax ..

But I don't need such high end graphic card โ€ฆthey said for low end model like the one you mentioned they cannot give much discount โ€ฆthey are only giving me $100 discount from the list price of the one you mentioned

is dell PC easy to modify ? Can I just buy a cheaper graphic card to replace the 3060 Ti to run my PC?

After two Amex offers, it will take off $200 which is $1128 plus tax. Is that not that bad ?

Did anyone buy from this deal? I've had mine a few weeks now and noticed the fan is noticeable noisy. If I open more than 5-6 tabs on chrome the fan is pretty much running the entire time. Seems like its struggling. Anyone else have the same issue or recommend any tips or tests I can run?

Download windows 10 debloater from google and run it once and that will remove all the bloatware that comes pre installed. Once done just create a system restore point and that should take care of cleaning unnecessary crap, thats running in the background.
