Unless you are using brushless tools, the P197 4Ah batteries have the same cells and less expensive.

Not sure if $120 for the HP batteries or $80 for the standard batteries is the better deal.
But I went ahead and got these because I didn't want buyers remorse later.

Not the same cells but correct about HP only benefiting brushless tools.

I was able to get several double packs of 3AH HP (with bag and charger) for less than $50 per combo during Ryobi Deal days. Paying more than double for for 33% more capacity is a joke.

Yeah pre pandemic was the best time to buy. Hopefully this Ryobi days will make this pricing a joke but I have a feeling it will be like gasoline. Prices rise quick but take a long time for competition to cause the drop back down even when supply is abundant.
