This one has a "dumb" mode/display:

Of course, Amazon also price matched it:

Edited to add:
Amazon also has the 12 zone model [amazon.com] for $89 NLA

Own this exact model and have been pleased with it.

Really like that you can control everything physically on the unit as well as the app.
Have still not mastered the auto/smart watering, but works fine with traditional schedules and can have auto rain delays
Means it has a "dumb" mode (physical display and buttons) in case the "smart" stuff ever stops working in the future, such as when/if they shut down the servers.

So, in this case, the "dumb" aspect is actually a great thing to have. The word "dumb" (local/physical control) is merely used to contrast the "smart" features (online cloud service and/or an app requirement).

My neighbor got a new sprinkler controller and I think it was this one. He seems to like it and esp bc he can control via an app. Nice price either way.

Was going to build one to integrate with Home Assistant. But I think there is a B-hyve integration now. Went to pick one up from Amazon and saw an open box for ~40.. Why not.

I bought 3 of these units yesterday. I chose this over the Rachio specifically because it has a screen and physical controls in addition to the wifi/smart features. Installed 2 of the units today without issue, they were very easy to setup. I have one set to "smart water" based on weather/soil/vegetation and another with manual programming.

edit: saw this (https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/14959967) deal after I had purchased at Lowe's. Would have saved me an additional $20 on 3.

Do you have multiple on the same wifi and address? I'd need two for my house.

I had the large size b have at my last home I sold. I really liked it and was easy to use.

Negative. They're installed at different locations. Pretty sure I read in the Amazon questions that you CAN have more than one controller on the same network but you'd probably want to verify that for yourself.

*Edit* Amazon is sell the 12 zone one for only $20 more. That's probably the way to go

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I have two different sprinkler hubs so the 12 unit one won't help in my case. To consolidate, I'd have to trench the sprinkler wire quite some distance and buying two of these b hyves is easier

I have installed 3 of these at 3 different houses. Very pleased with it. Incidentally, they just updated their app yesterday. I had to tweak the Smart Settings, but then left all of them alone. No issues ever. I have NEVER needed to use the manual buttons on the unit as app works just fine and much easier to use.

Note that this will connect to your smartphone ALSO via Bluetooth if you are close by.

I was considering Rachio initially but I have very happy with these abs saved a lot of money.

Please note that some utilities will give you rebate and make this unit free or heavily discounted. Besides, the water you save will add to your savings.

One thing every smart sprinkler controller will teach you is that we do NOT have to water plants everyday and that deeper and less frequent watering is the key.

I have 2 units (6 zone), one controls front yard, the other back yard, both on the same wifi network. No issues at all.
Each unit is controlled separately on the app.
